A curious thing has been happening lately. In some of my meditations I have seen a hand approaching my 3rd eye. I see it just as it is happening, and reflexivly jerk my head. Of course, as I do that, I loose the quiet place in my meditation.

I don't necessarily feel any fear associated with it, any more than moving my head if something were approaching my physical eyes.

My 3rd eye has felt lately as if it is more open and as vulnerable as my physical eyes.

Any theories, anyone?

So give me some insight oh magnificent four legged, all knowing, cyote, of what I should expect if I do not move my head and let this finger touch my 3rd eye?

Will there be pain or enlightenment or healing, or.......no thing??

Dear Priestess,

Perhaps in your state of vulnerability, the hand was approaching to comfort you, perhaps to cover the third eye to tell you to rest for a moment. Perhaps it was a way for you to feel protected & not vulnerable. Since there is only one third eye, guess only one hand would be needed.

I would like a little more info about your encounters - and the nature of the meditations you are doing at the time -

- if this needs to be private by E-mail please feel free - or if it is stuff you wish not to share I understand

- was any color associated with the several appearances of the hand? any aromas for the "3rd nose" to savor? any sounds for the "3rd ear" to appreciate?

Was your turning away "reflexive" - as if you were startled? - as if this were energy work coming for which you had not given permission?

- obviously you experienced the "possibility" of danger.

I have several working theories but if you can add a little "color" to the canvas, my meditations might be better directed.

Although this may seem silly, there may be someone else who will benefit by your answer as well. So here goes.

There is no big deal regarding the meditations. This does not happen every time. Long enough apart that I forget... more or less, and then am startled... Off and on for probably 6-8 months. It is the only thing that consistently comes up..

As I said before there is no over-alarm, just reflex action as if my 'eye' were about to be poked. It is a hand, by the way, not a finger sticking out. The hand seems dark, but more or less as contrast so that it can be seen.
No smell, but my clairsentience is not highly developed, so that is not reliable. I play soft music, other than that, no sounds.

The meditation is usually about things like dealing calmly with stress. There has been quite a lot of stuff happening lately, and I do call in my guides for 'irritation removal' or just some 'lets talk about this', 'I would like some answers', or 'where is this step going, before I say yes', stuff. You know, run of the mill. :o}

I don't always feel that I get clear answers to questions I ask.

Many years ago, when I was a newbie, there was an alarm asociated with 'a hand' which kept appearing and scaring the pants off me when it did. It ruined a lot of what were to be really nice meditations. It's appearance was different then this one. A friend taught me how to do clearings for my property, and it afterward made one brief appearance and has never been back. This appearance, though, does not have the same 'feeling' associated with it as that one did. I can watch it come closer, in meditation, until it seems as if it is too close. It does not seem to be aggressive, but determined.

Regarding `the hand` ... my instinct on thinking about it, is that it is a protective hand, to prevent you from persuing whatever path you are on in your meditation at the time - either because something will interfere with your process and it might not be for your highest good ... or maybe, for your highest good, you just should not follow that line for the moment.

Just a hand to stop you in your tracks, but not to do harm is how I see it.

There is still something muddying the waters here -

- you say that it got "too close" - which suggests anxiety -- an invasion of your space beyond your comfort level ??

- yet you say there was no fear - ??

- maybe there is a fine line between the two but splitting hairs here won't be helpful I feel

What else about the "first" hand and the "clearing" you did - sounds as if you were under psychic attack - or at least you felt so

- if the hand is not white, golden, or light glowing blue or less likely a glowing green, I would not fool with it right now -

- definitely pass on having it touch your 3rd eye it remains "dark"

- at least until you can sort it out -

- I take it your guides have not provided much help so far??

I suppose another question is: had the hand been a lovely glowing white-gold would she have turned away?

- at this point there is no answer for that inquirey.

- I feel that turning away is the significant matter in the occurence once the hand has appeared - especiallly since there is "history" with "hands" and, therefore, karma involved.

- color of energy helps identify the "chakra" centre associated with any probable "astral" event - if the source is "human" -

- then one can get a beter guidance to the Intent that might be powering the thought form.

Well, black is the color of some very fertile earth >:-}}

- in some Eastern traditions white is the color for funerals

- in the West black is often associated with death and mourning - OK

- I wonder how may in the West would say green is a "heart centre" color?? perhaps more than I imagine. >:-}}

Try not to get too hung up on color -

Largely, it is Intent that is Wrathful or Peaceful - most "negative" Intent will be powered from the red chakras or drawn from other larger sources of thought forms (peaceful as well as wrathful) - such as the Collective Energies of a Species or Race - or Archetypal Energies

The 'too close' was in reference to the eye, as when anything gets too close to your eye. I was seeing this also 'outside', and the 3rd eye as very similar to the other eyes, in which case you don't really want anything IN them..

If the hand had reached to touch, say my ear, I don't know if I would have flinched...but probably as I think about it. I don't think I would be comfortable with any touch from this.

In the first instance, which was several years ago, I used to like to do meditation in my hot tub on the patio looking at the moon and the stars.... It is an enclosed area, with a gate. One evening a hand 'appeared' at the gate latch, it looked like with the intention of opening and entering. I know that they don't have to open a gate to enter, but that is probably a metaphor for entering private space.

Whenever I was alone to meditate, this would recurr, until I could no longer used the hot tub at night unless I had company... I am not usually a wuss. This hand was white, and it glowed...but I did not think it was friendly at all.
I think it meant to disturb my meditations.

So this one, that is the reason for the thread, does not make me fearful when it appears. Only fearful in regard to personal safety when it gets too close. I have thought about the answer that it is to keep me from seeing something, which I think is correct, but I don't think it is out of protection. I am thinking that something wants to remain hidden?

I don't think that is the entire answer, however.

I think my guides told me to ask you here. Help comes in various and colorful packages, doesn't it?

I have been thinking about your answer today, and you may have helped put me on the right track.

I think it is not about 'protection' as far as my protection is concerned. Perhaps something/someone is protecting themselves.

My guides would not protect me in a way that made me feel vulnerable. They would simply tell me to play in a different sandbox. After I grumble a little, I would do it. :o}

But, something wants to stop my seeing, it is clear.

Is this hand perhaps your 'own hand'? Are you stopping yourself from seeing something? A form of hiding perhaps.

Hi Eleanor,

Having a high interest in psychology, my first question, is 'is this mine'. Most circumstances will will say yes, since we are responsible for everything in our lives.

I have been doing a little more 'early morning' meditation today, and don't really think it is mine. (I really hate waking up this early, and will do nearly anything to shut the brain down again.......)

So, on some level, I am responsible for the hand, but feel that something is hiding behind it.

So, with all the help I am certainly receiving here, I am asking my guides for special ability to see 'thru' it. To see what is happening that is being hidden. Probably not going to happen today, but it will happen...

I will see 'who' is attached to the other side of that hand...I have a vague memory of a dream of someone coming close. This may be someone astral traveling as well. hummmmmmm interesting..

My experience suggests your angel is stimulating your third eye for more vision

Congratulations for seeing the hand approaching you.
During my meditations a purple hand made entered my field of vision and made it quite evident that the darkness I was seeing (blackness actually though a vibrant blackness)was the depth of my own ignorance.
It was also made very clear, that if I accepted my own ignorance I would not be attached to the results of my endevours.

Instead of simply accepting the presence of this hand, I am now changing my meditations to adapt for some answers about this.

I am also wondering if this is something that does want to be noticed. Perhaps to get my attention for some help.
As in "take my hand"....

I have a feeling the answer is in several of these senarios, perhaps a part here, a part there....
