Reiki and Feet

Hello.

I am curies about why Reiki sometimes comes out of feet. Basesd off of what I have experienced and been told I guess this does happen. Basicly I am wondeing why this occurs and if it is normal. This is just one of those random curiosities. Generly Reiki is seen as hands-on healing, not feet-on healing, so it it throwing me a bit.

Thank you for your time. This board is great. Blessings.

Hi Shauna,
Namaste ....

May I suggest that you practise using the Reiki energy in all the ways you have been taught, and get to be familiar with it? Whatever we may say on the board, the only true way of becoming happy and familiar with the Reiki Energy is by using it, and finding out for yourself.
That is not to say that you shouldn`t ask questions ... but eventually, it will be your own experiences that teach you what you need to learn.
Love and light,
philanty

Otoharo!

Shauna, I never feel reiki going out my feet. For me it goes to my hands only.

When I audited a level II class, once, during a group share, we had our hands on one of the students. There was a lot of energy, it was all flowing grandly. Then I felt it all go swish to the center of the earth. I asked him about that afterwards. He said the enrgy was too much for him (How could that be?) and he sent it to the core. I still do not understand why he would do that.

Greetings,
There are times that the energy is too much for me also. I don't experience the same amount on energy build up within my own body as when I am participating in a Reiki Share.
As of late, I have been unable to spend too much time on my computer also. The residual energy is too great.

As we grow in our intuition and ability with working with the Reiki energy, our sensitivity grows also. it is all a process on the journey to Enlightenment. We are shifting to the next dimension.

Enjoy.

I do lack some experience in Reiki, but I have always thought that when energy flows through my feet 'auto-grounding' is on - because it is needed. Could be that negative energy is 'grabbed' by the Reiki energy and pulled down (and out) to the greater manifestation of physical reality: earth. The energy flows easier thru my legs when they have recieved healing. Any aspect/part of your body is a channel, is it not?

I dunno... really..

I was taught to draw "gunk" out at the end of the REIKI session by placing yourself at their feet with your hands on the solar plexus - middle of the soles....souls? I have seen and felt "gunk" (strictly scientific name) come out.

One session the client pulled away, Her words "I am not ready to lose it yet."

One session I was pushed away. It wasn't time for the client to get rid of the gunk.

I do Reflexology. So I work on feet quite often.

The feet have minor Chakras comparable to the ones in the palms of the hands. It's logical that Reiki could flow from those Chakras just as easily as from the palms once you've been attuned even though the foot Chakras aren't specifically opened like the palm Chakras are.

I work for a company lpcated on a piece of land once occupied by ancient native tribes and the land has a realy funky energy. I was feeling Reiki being drawn through my feet so often that I finally had to get a piece of stone to place under my desk to help keep me grounded.

There are few things more annoying than a constant pulsing of energy through one's feet.

Hi
That's sooo cool...imagine your very next seesion-feet-on. But, my first Reiki teacher told us while giving Reiki not to stand in any direction of the feet, but behind the feet, for then we are taking the part of "patient's" karma, since he is releasing through feet. Once the person was sitting near the Reiki session participants. She suddenly jumped, and moved to the other side, for the reason she felt something is comming out from patient's feel, and she did not like that energy.
Later, i never ever heard any reiki teacher talking abut that, but i still practise it-not being in direct possition of the feet while giving the treatment. Also, he mentioned not putting hands on the navel(for it is the conection) with our Mother, and that is something-unchangable, and untachable...what do you think of that???

Hi Shauna,

What an interesting dialogue you have started here!

While I have never thought of using my feet when working on people, I have used them to reach pets who are lying on the floor. Sometimes it is just too uncomfortable or awkward to get down into their space so a stretched out foot will work just as well. They seem to enjoy it, and just as with hands on, get up and walk away when done.

On another note, one lady I worked with reacted very physically (almost to the point of vomiting) when I touched her feet during a healing session. The same thing later happened to me when it was her turn to work on me, although not as severely. It was like we both got a major rush of energy from our heads down to our feet. At both times our master/teacher was working on the head area, and we were at the foot area. We're still not entirely sure why we both had this intense reaction. If anyone can shed some light on this I'd be interested to hear your thoughts. This happened during the practice time just after we became attuned to Level II. It took some quiet time, drinking lots of water and re-grounding to settle us down again.

With light and love,
Featherpoint

Hello Featherpoint,

I cannot for sure shed some light on the intensity you both felt with your teacher working on heads while others did feet, but, I would think with the head and feet being worked on at the same time there was a huge energy flowing and perhaps someone was in need of grounding or releasing and the energy was coming out strongly from the feet. When we sweep the aura we go from head to feet and out and away so makes sense a leaving point, releasing point.

When being in Reiki practices with many others the heat and energy in the room is so strong yet feels so cleansing and healing. I have been and seen many parched afterwards drinking much water which is good to detoxify anyway.
I do think the Reiki is particularly flowing right after attunements... like Emerald says, kicking it up a notch!

Hello. Thank you for answering my feet questions. I found these posts quite amusing to read.

Thank you for your concern. I want to clarify that I am not using this board as a substitute for practice. Every night I do a self-treatment, and as I can do other things with Reiki. It really is true, there are cetain things that basicly can only be learned by experience. My hope is that this board can continue to be the contact with Reiki people that I currently am not getting elsewhere.

It is good to know I am not the only one who has gone thorugh Reiki experiences with feet. In my case what I am experiencing really feels like Reiki coming out of my feet in the same way that it comes out of my hands. The Reiki energy being to much at times makes sense, as it can get very intense. Sending Reiki out of the feet sounds like fun, and I will have to try it. It makes sense that feet could be used for grounding and removing gunk, since they are connected with the ground. The idea of the whole body being a channel honestly makes more sense to me then part of it being a channel. Not touching the navel makes as much sense as anything else. All of this is interesting.

Thank you for your time. I am glad people found this topic enjoyable. Blessings.

Greetings Reiki lovers,

Reiki is truly an amazing form of energy work. I tend to look at as "sending light into the person" and many times the light hits a dense form of energy. This dense energy is caused by many things. Dis-ease, drugs, attachments, feelings...you get the picture. Reiki is like the "Master Blaster" working gently to transmute the dark, dense energy into light. Reiki goes in and works on the cells and atoms at the core level to create health.

What I have experienced is that the person who begins to feel is has a blockage, or dense area. Depending on what it is, (and the person usually knows, whether they share or not) the level of discomfort can be small or overwhelming. One woman I had the opportunity to work on tasted metal. She was highly toxic (drug use) and another person who worked on her later tasted metal himself (as the Reiki practitioner.) She did go into drug rehab, which was good.

Many times the secondary chakras begin to open and activate to a greater degree as we work with the Reiki energy. This includes the hands, feet, temples, high heart, and back of the head. The energy flows when Reiki is "ON." What a blessing.

Love & Light
Mary

Hi Donna,

I believe you are right when you say there was a huge energy flowing. The other woman is an ER nurse, and deals with major trauma most days. Perhaps her big reaction was due to all the energy she is picking up from the work situations she is put in. As for myself, well I only reacted like that when she was working on me, when we worked on our master/teacher, it was a very calming, peaceful energy that I felt. So possibly I was picking up too much of her 'work' energy.

LOL, I can relate to the parched feelings you refer to. Anytime I do Reiki, whether self, or on others, I always need to drink lots of water.

With light and love,
Featherpoint

You might also check with your teacher, see if s/he attuned your feet. My feet were attuned along with my hands, the better to share Reiki with Mother Earth as I walk on her. For a while they were often uncomfortably hot, but that settled down as the channel widened.

Hi Featherpoint
I am told that a lot of eastern healing traditions draw any dis-ease out thru the feet. I presume that that is so it can be transmuted by sending it to mother earth or something?.
Seeing that what a lot of the older Eastern beliefs(regarding energy) are now being acknowledge as being correct by modern science. I wonder if that is what is happening here

Hi Rob,

That is an interesting thought. It would seem to be entirely possible. But, if we are using Reiki, and as a practitioner put our hands on the soles of the recipients feet, does that mean we are then blocking the exit of that 'dis-ease'? Perhaps that is why the sick feeling may occur, but is that an explanation for the sense of the rush from head to toe? Not sure really, but food for thought!

Thanks for your input Rob!
