The Reiki Cafe 

In reading a book, I came across this passage and thought I would pass it on....

"...the one who disagress with you is serving a sacred purpose in showing you the limitation of form. Such a person may be a 'contrary' or 'thunderbeing' who inspires deeper understanding."

Just another indication we don't meet people or have difficult situations by accident. Everything is significant and offers us opportunity to learn.

I love your post here.

When we see people who cause us to be angry or fearful they are our perfect mirror. When we don't own the feeling we tend to say that they are "making" us mad or what ever emotion were feelign in the moment.
These people have defintaely been sent for a higher purpose in your/our life. They are never just there for random acts of unkindness, ignorance whatever.They are presented for a reason. I t is the same thing as when people come to us for healing. These people help us see our own limiting behaviours on a deeper level, our true selves .
The purpose is to heal old wounds we don't even know we have. The soul knows there and these people are wonderful gifts. As with the emotions someone brings up in side we need to be more aware of what the feelign is. becuase these unhealed emotions tend to make us want d to strike out and say unkind things to another we need to take note. We need to own the feelings as our own unhealed issues.
We are the ones who choose which emotions were going to be. Moving past the need to strike out in unkindness is actually a call for love. We need lots and lots of love to heal these unhealed issues that would cause us such pain and shame. As long as were uncaccpting of these feelings and emotions we will never be free.

Francis of Assisi wrote something like this,

In pardoning you are pardoned, and in forgiving you are set free.

That everything is significant and offers us opportunity to learn...Such a statement and the philosophy underlying this are so helpful to me just now. Since July, I have moved from my beloved state of Maine (not my idea), my mom had a stroke and died two weeks ago, and yesterday my daughter broke her arm and will need surgery for a complete recovery. If I didn't take a philosophical view of these things, why then, I think I'd either be really angry and unpleasant or I'd crumple up in a ball. Somehow though I find that these events are more opportunities to hone my focus on what I want from life, to take nothing or granted (or at least try)and to try to follow the path I really want to take rather than be carried along. That's my hope, at least.

Thank you Featherpoint for your kind words. And yes, your posting did seem to come to me just when I needed to read it. Another little example that nothing is by accident. Yes, if you'd like to send Reiki to my daughter, we'd appreciate. Being immersed in all this change has made it hard to be a strong channel for Reiki---so many self referenced distractions. My daughter's name is Elena.
