Jam is better on scones or even better ofn french brioche, and for the best bagel of your life try:

One fresh bagel, sundried tamatoes (in olive oil), cream blue cheese (i forget its name, but its like cream cheese with a kick) and mayonaised celeriac (it is a real thing I promise). This recipe is simply devine.

Bagels are important,even to those of us with wheat allergies like me. I try never to forget them.

And no, you don't need any reason, good or otherwise, for being incorrigible. Nor, for that matter, do you need a reason for stuff and nonsense.

Being originally from the mid-west how could I forget (actually they are still a big part of my life :-)))

But then they were Vinny's words and not mine. Though since he is near Chicago I would think he would recognize their value as well.

So, it's clean, comfy undies, warm socks, bagels with assorted accessories and love. I think that about covers it, don't you?
How about a nice cup of tea too? A crackling fire would be a pleasant touch as well...well, now we're getting kind of high maintenance here.....
