The Reiki Cafe 

Hi

I've decided to confess and submit myself to your judgment.

Oh great reiki cafe, since becoming attuned, i have:

1. Believed I have "healing hands" and told people to stand back in case of explosions

2. Used reiki (with consent, sort of) on a potential boyfriend in an attempt to get him hooked

3. Used reiki to show off on various occasions

4. Wished that there was some kind of dark reiki i could send to people to give them indigestion or something when theyve p*ssed me off.

I realise that none of these are big or clever and I wonder if anyone else has reiki confessions to make. I humbly ask for your forgiveness.

Ahhh, Sal, so you're human like the rest of us. I don't really want to confess, since I'm trying out "no judgment" for self as well as others. Recognizing that you've fallen short of the mark is good. Then moving on to do it better.

Confession just makes me concentrate on "guilt" and that seems non-productive to me.

and just sit back and watch the results, great fun.

For your Reiki penance, do 3 hail Reiki's
and eat lots of very good rich dark chocolate
then put your feet up and meditate about more chocolate..
partake in dark chocolate and no dark Reiki.

I just about died of laughter imagining some folks reactions to your post. In any case, I think you should add my premature demise to your list of sins :-)

You don't really need our forgiveness do you? But in case you really do... I forgive you (but first let me remove the plank from my eye). I think you've shown brilliantly how human we all are and I humbly bow to you oh-brave-one for facing and embracing that humanity.

For myself, I have to say, that I may have thought of such things before, but was too chicken to try any of them out (sad, I know). But that was before I came under the wicked influence of the Bear - a bow of respect to you Bear :-} Now, I too have tried out the blasting, into a room full of stiff-necked corporates. Very interesting :-)

Thanks for showing the lighter side of Reiki :-)

Oh my Gosh!

I have not laughed so much for a while, and i certainly need it.

On a quick serious note.. I have just been writing about the myth of dark Reiki and why it is an impossability . And, I must confess, when I have sometimes wished something horrible would happen to some-one, I have sent them reiki in order to try to sort out the situation, maybe wishing that it might make them a little more reasonable. If I am angery during doing this, it has sometimes given ME a stomach ache.

I have also used Reiki on boyfirends, in hope it would help the relationship. I find it makes me love them a whole lot deeper, and hopefully, even though we haven't worked out, it has helped them. In fact I think that sending Reiki to one ex made him realise that he was acting badly by the way he was treating me and so END the relationship so as not to hurt me("you don't always get what you want, but sometimes....." as the good song tells us).

Hmmm. More Confessions.

1) I regularly use Reiki to get a seat on the tube (subway) during rush hour. It always works!
I don't see a problem in this to tell you the truth, especially if I am tired and have shopping , but I always give up my seat to anyone who looks like they really need it.

2) I often practice distance self treatment on the tube, and watch as everyone on the carraige gets unexpectedly happy.

3) I sometiems send Reiki to my sister or Mum if i haven't done an errend they called me to do, in hope that they will be too calm to get annoyed at me.

4) Sometimes - without telling people exactly what it is I am doing (though most people know I practice a healing modality called Reiki)- I slip my hand onto a freinds back whilst they are sitting next to me and flagging from a headache or more serious ailment in the cinema, theatre etc and just let the Reiki flow. These are often people who aren't really beleivers in Reiki and, I must admit, I feel quite happy when they fully recover and look at me in surprise. I take their allowing me to touch them as consent.

5) I once really fancied a Reiki client, and couldn't stop myself from noticing how very cute he looked whenever I opened my eyes whilst I was giving him a session.

(Note: From this I learnt a wonderful lesson about how to allow sexual energy to not effect your meditation or Reiki flow, whilst not supressing it or allowing it to effect the reciever).

6) I often give Reiki my cats when they are trying to fight with one another and watch them look confused as they calm down and start purring even though they want to be annoyed about territory.

I love it. Hmm, confessions of a Reiki killer. No.

I have to get serious for moment. Reiki is healing. Reiki is pure love healing energy. You can not fall to the dark side and still be doing Reiki. :) Reiki is for one purpose,andone purpose only, healing, whether that be for a person, and animal, your car, whatever.

If you are sending out energies with other purposes, then it is not Reiki. One can send energies to make someone ill, to make them change their minds, to do lots of things, but that is not Reiki. That pink fuzzy stuff being sent through a room of people, that's not Reiki.

There are tons of energies out there, and how you use them determines whether you are on the light or dark side of the force. :) Getting a seat on the subway, is not too bad. Hoping others are ill is not good. You should have your energy lines slapped for that one.

As far as pennance goes, well, chocolate sounded real good. Chocoltae is the answer for everything. What's the question? Who cares. :)

This is a great thread! I too have confessions...

I have Reiki'd my car as to not get speeding tickets (worked wonderfully!).

When my boss is running thru the office, I have used Reiki on her, and see her calm down.

I too have used Reiki to get myself a seat on the subway.

And when I'm out at yard sales, I have been known to beam Reiki at the person i'm bargaining with so they will give me a better deal.

...And now i'm off to eat a pound of chocolate for repentence and say 3 'hail Reiki's' :-)

I love the light that flows from deep within you!

Are you perfect in your practice and understanding of the universal principles undrlying Reiki? Am I? I love you.

In humility, I also ask for forgiveness if anything that you have thought or done with Reiki offended me in anyway.
If it has that is my stuff. I love you as another traveller. I love you as I am loved.

1. It is hard not to beleive in having "healing hands" isn't it? When I fall into this I remind myself that I am only a hollow bone, an empty reed through which the love and light flows.
2. Reiki is wonderfully tempting in relationships. It is so intimate and loving. This can be arousing! Is it a misuse of Reiki? Love is healing. Relationships can develop into intimacy and love. Such love can lead to sex.
Sex can be very healing. Reiki can enhance sexuality in the right relationship.
3. Show off, not me!
4. Wishing? this is not acting..I would thing that this wish would stop the flow and you could not act on this in reiki. I have such thoughts at times and return to Love.

I love you and forgive myself for any thoughts that suggest I need to forgive you!

Sal, one of my friends referred to the time when she had preditory hands.

MY mster for Reiki I and II reikid her equipment when it did not work and kept it running, such things as refrigerators, and stereo. I found this out when she was present at a group I had begun where I played as music an essential part of the session. When my equipment failed and I was faced with returning people's money for the session, she placed her hands on the stereo and soon it worked. When I had left my lights on, and was faced with waiting for someone to come and charge my battery, I reikied my battery and got it to the point that there was a buzz when I tried the starter. It would likely have finally charged the battery sufficiently had not the service man not arrived. Healing has a lot of meanings.

I wonder, that if when we are using Reiki in this way, if it is indeed the dark side of it, or rather us using it for purposes that it was not intended for. A bit like guns being used to kill people, when in fact we all know they are for shooting bottles of fences.

Are we when we using it in this way, for gain, not being sorcerers of some kind?

When we beem out (Unpermissioned) Reiki to a crowd of people, are we not imposing our will on them?
Perhaps they want to be misrable and be having a bad time

Try practicng the evil eye to give people who have p*ssed you off indigestion. Just the stare should do it, but perhaps it should be done with unconditional love (LOL)and also unpermissioned reiki to heal the indigestion.

Sal you should be severly punished (LOL) The chocolate punishment sounds about right.

I don't know about everyone else, but Donna brings up an interesting point with chocolate. Since I have become attuned to Reiki, I have unknowingly become a HUGE choco-haulic. Anyone else?

I pondered on this while I polished off what was left of some chocolate covered almonds.... hmmmmm. chocolate furniture polish, it might work. My son used to rub walnuts on his viola and then polish it...

I do think I partake in more dark chocolate since Reiki. I have always liked chocolate but only had a craving for it about twice a year. Now my husband he can sustain life on chocolate. If he ever seems down or depressed off I go to the Chocolate Factory and buy in bulk for this lovely man.

I posted 2 links on the resource board about Reiki and chocolate. In the one the gentleman says he hands out chocolate to ground people at his workshops. A pretty interesting read.

So I ask, did you feel you needed more grounding so then took the chocolate brick road?

Is there such a thing as dark energy..
I believe so...
Energy has two parts..
Like yin & yang
Positive & negative
One does not exist without the other...

Reiki is just energy...
like Qi-Gong, Pranna, Mojo or what ever else
people call it..
it is just energy,
energy that is moved/controlled/channeled ect.. by a persons intent.
What ever that intent is, is what the energy will do.
Intent is always the key, when talking about energy..

I can never understand when people say Reiki cannot harm..
It is just energy...
It has two parts... Light & Dark
How can someone acknowledge one side and
ignore the other...
To look at a yin-yang sign and see only the white side..
I don't understand this???

The same energy I use in my Kung-Fu practice,
Qi-Gong practice, is the same energy I use in my
healing practice,
just a VERY different intent is used...

So I am on the train and see a woman with a
crying baby..
I "read" her and see she is tired, frustrated &
not in a very good place...
So...
I put the baby to sleep and blast the Mother so that
when she gets off at her stop, baby is still sleeping
and now she has a spring in her stept..

I see it as a gift...
I gave her a gift and she accepted it...
she could of refused my gift..
She did not..
You asked if blasting a room is wrong..
If I blast a room, who ever wants to accept
the energy will..
who wever does not ..don't!
I don't care, I am just giving gifts!
What you do with it, is your circle to walk..

Yes I very much agree to there being a dark and light side to reiki. The light would not exsist without the dark (as in the day follows night) and I believe we may have had some examples of it's use on the slightly dark side here.
If we acknowledge that we are human, then we will have Human wants and needs and frailities and strenghts.

Using reiki to get a good price on something, is that ethical? To get a seat on a bus,train etc is that ethical. Using reiki to comfort a screaming baby, so we don't get out ear drums burst, is that ethical?

I don't believe for one minute that it was Dr Usui's intent, when he introduced reiki to this earth,for it to be used in this way, but who amongst us has not done something like this?

When we do this are we actually practicing reiki thou, or just using it to manipulate a situation in our favour?.

Hmm I have thought of advertising my services "Reiki clients needed, no good-looking men need apply"...

I dont think there is a dark reiki, energy is neutral. I suppose evil people could use reiki for evil purposes but would reiki allow this? Ooo back to the reiki having a will argument again.

I think reiki has a sense of humour though, so i spose i have to allow for the possibility of nasty things being done with it.

Hmm enough of the logic, u want chocolate?
