driving without using your brakes

I have developed a habit of driving as though I don't have breaks. I have brakes I just don't want to use them. They are only good fo so many stops, I just don't know how many??? As I practised this strange activity I noticed a very interesting turn of events began to happen. Traffic snarls became mire inconviences, break checkers became amusements, and traffic lights a blur in my rear view mirror.
There is a mindfulness to this practice. What if someone were to embraced life and it's many distractions in the same manner. Do we not have a limited number of breaths to our lifetime!!! Each one can be our last so we must use it as jusidiously (sp?) as possible. When we breath, breath as if we breath for ourselves and others and as we exhale we rid others of their ailments. As we do so we can mindfully
purify our envirorment, all who are sick and dying and breath for our selves to boot. Here's breathing for you kids

Hi T2

Tonglen rules!!!!

Have you ever head of a Hawaiian shaman - Haleakala Hew Len.
He practises Ho'oponopono which means 'to rectify an error'.
These are some of things he says:

'The practice of Ho'oponopono is about acknowledging that the problems in our lives are the results of 'errors' in our thinking based on past memories. By realising that we are entirely responsible for everything that happens to us, and repenting of our errors before the Light, the Light is able to transform our personal situation for the better.'

More - 'Ho'oponopono is a path of repentance and forgiveness. Before I can be forgiven I have to be repentful. You don't find too many people around here being repentful, because the opposite of repentance is blame. The opposite of being repentful and forgiving is not being 100% responsible. And without that I cannot make this cancer disappear. This is a manifestation of my thought. But if I shift my thought and allow it to be transmuted into Light, this thing will go. And when this thing goes, some new creation will come in. Through just being responsible the Light immediately gives you what you need and you'll be inspired.'

More - 'You are in me and I am within you. You and I share all common memories since the beginning of creation. Why is this so? Because we are like everything in a pot of stew. We can't escape each other. If someone calls me with a hip problem, I know its caused by a memory. Because I share a common memory with that person, when I do this process called Ho'oponopono the memory will be transmuted. The way it works is I will say: 'I'm sorry, please forgive me,' and that sends it to the Light. And the Light sends down a transmuting vibration which shifts things back into Light and healing happens.'

I've taken these quotes from a book called 'shamanic wisdomkeepers' and I've tried to find more about Hew Len but I've not had much luck so far. He fascinates me and I would bombard him with questions if I ever met him.

T2 I don't know how this relates to what you're saying about driving without brakes - I just felt the need to write it down here. You mentioned Tonglen to me and when I looked it up on the net I was fascinated and it reminded me of this guy.

I work a lot on myself by looking at what others show me - mirroring. Its like a very watered down version of Ho'oponopono and I find it most revealing - sometimes not very nice.

Did anyone see 'The Green Mile' a movie with Tom Hanks about death row. That guy breathed in 'nasties' and transformed them. If you haven't seen it ITS WORTH WATCHING.

So thank you for encouraging me to write this down.

Drive safely

Love

Eleanor

By the way - is the plural of shaman - shamans or shamen or some other!?

Namaste ,

Thank all for sharing such wonderful insights & information. Also FYI,
While a Hawaiian Shaman,
Hew Len is also a PhD clinical psychologist who has worked with disabled and criminally mentally ill and their families.According to Hooponopono, Hew Len says that others reflect to us something within ourselves and something we have caused in them. That we are 100% responsible for what is in us and for what they are going through, which he suggests ways to clear this ( which he says elevates and releases the situation.)He suggests several things:

Say to the Divinity "Please whatever is going on in me that I have caused this persons pain , tell me how I can rectify it." He asks Divinity "How is it I can rectify the problem within me." (Divinity is in charge of the outcome)

In any situation he suggests, saying, "Im sorry for what is going on , Please forgive me."

Ask the Divinity to correct and cleanse, all movements and to erase and correct memories and thought forms.

He recommends these as ways to cleanse judgments, beliefs, attitudes ( about the person or situation )and ask Divinity what he can do for that person. (As the attachments and memories are cleansed, the patient improves.) He states that a person comes to him to give him a chance to look at what is going on in him. And states that problems are only really solved by transmutation.

He states the only way to awaken others is to work on ourselves. When someone comes to him--he does the clearing techniques, so the Divinity can transmute.

He says Divinity knows the solution to anything going on ( any person, inanimate object or any situation )and by saying these things, releases to Divinity for neutralization and release. He states that since the Divinity created us, only the Divinity can correct and cleanse it. He says anyone is 100% responsible for what is going on within ones self and in another person, and if the cleansing he
suggests is done, Divinity clears, elevates and releases the situation. An interesting concept.

One example he gave --a woman came to him that was taking an herb that was not working--his response was to ask himself"What is going on in me that this woman is experiencing this herb not working?"

He states that any situation can be elevated and released by saying "I'm sorry for what is going on.Please forgive me."

The energy associated with the person, place or thing is neutralized, gets released. The final step is that the Divinity is allowed to come in and fill the void with light.

how would you get a ticket for not using your brakes. I don't live in san fran. Your response of slow down is correct. tha's exactly what you have to do slow down and be
MINDFUL of your driving enviourment. A foot off the gas pedle is almost like using a brake is it not try it you will not be putting yourself or anyone else in jepardy I promise.
