Funny you should ask that!!

My take on it is that the more I try to be mindfull & in the moment the more everything around me that is mechanical seems to get sick & die. Actually, it felt as if everything around me was trying to give me a hard time, animate or inanimate....I say that knowing that perhaps I am projecting onto those things the chaos inside me.... But the mindfullness glitch SEEMED to follow the mechanical disaster glitch....
However, some womderful people here have been sending me Reiki which has made a diference as I feel MUCH more balanced & stronger. Have had a friend or two offer some suggestions re clearing & I am most thankful. If you guys only knew how hard it was for me to ask for help (personality) youd know how deep my appreciation is for all you have done.
Namaste,

Hi honey

I know exactly what you mean by finding it hard to ask for help. I'm the same. I always want others to know when I need reiki and to offer it instead of me asking. I think that's because I feel other's energy and emotions and know when they're needing it, so offer. I'm not always taken up on it and that's fine but I want them to be the same with me. Its a lesson I think in knowing that if we can really only deal with ourselves. But asking is doing that too. So I'm giving up offering to see what happens :-}}} (that sounds very long winded - don't seem to be very short winded today) Did a certain person not say 'ask and ye shall receive' - what, if anything, was said about not asking?

Light bulbs are starting to blow everywhere again and the computer freezes all the time at the moment - I thought all that had passed - do you remember we were all talking about that a few months ago - seems like only yesterday LOL

Much love

Hi Firekeeper

You're probably right. We're off for a walk on the beach in about 5 minutes.

There's something about chaos theory going round in my head. I want to post about it but don't know enough about it to do this - something about 'out of chaos comes order' and people everywhere seem to be going through chaos one way or another at the moment. Its like we've been thrown up in the air, or our energy has, is being remixed or resorted, and when it lands again we'll be out of chaos and in order again - nothing will be the same as it was before.

Does that make sense or is long winded again??? :-}}}

Can anyone else explain chaos theory better than this? Has anyone else got any ideas on chaos theory in realtion to what is happening to us - I only ask because its in my mind all the time but I don't know if I'm understanding this properly.

Love to all

Eleanor

Chaos: Making a New Science by James Gleick

- I read this about 10 years ago I guess - as I recall, one of the keys to chaos theory is something akin to "acausality" - that predictability is uncertain at best given (in many cases) an incomplete knowledge of the "initial conditions".

- the how and when of subsequent measurements in change then interact with reality to reflect the certainty of our predictions.

>:-}}

- one of the fascinating concepts in chaos theory is the "existence" of "Strange Attractors" -

- here a chaotic system can be seen to exhibit certain "predictable" patterns (in the long-tern which are not seen in the short-term) if viewed properly and is then said to have a strange attractor -

- hope your walk on the beach was all you had hoped (if not predicted).

Hi again

Dip in the sea - no thanks - not for you or anyone - its really cold here considering its July. Having said that there were kids in swimmers - made me shiver just to look at them :-}}} We've also had lots of thick fog over the last few days - the house is cold and the washing won't dry - sorry housewifely stuff invading there :-}}{

chaos theory - still don't get why it keeps coming into my head - one day I'm sure all will become clear - maybe I'll see if there's a layman's website about this - written so that small children and me can understand LOL

Much love

Hi Firekeeper

My sense of adventure does not involve swimming in the freezing cold north sea with fog on the horizon. Anyway I've done it befor, well not so cold and not with fog - for me not to be repeated.

Anything involving travel I'll do, especially if I can fly - I LOVE flying. I only flew for the first time in 1990 - to Maderia. I was so excited I was almost hysterical with laughing and crying at the same time - just like a child.

When my kids leave home my husband and I are going to pack a van, bus, campervan or just the car and live and travel in Spain. That will be a few years yet so we want to try some other things first. The thing that's taking my fancy at the moment is a very long train journey - like across the States or Canada or Russia - living on the move appeals to me. Getting on and off when we feel like it, meeting all different people, waking up in a different place from where you went to sleep - all that sort of thing. Perhaps South America would be good - anywhere that's not here basically. Paul Theroux is one of my favourite travel authors - he's done a lot of travelling like that.

So if you live near a train station anyone - you never know when we might turn up :-}}}

Love to all

Eleanor

I've just noticed the heading for this thread - hope that's not an omen! LOL :-}}}

The Trans-Canada is lovely - at least from videos I've viewed - I am not sure whether they have "passes" where one can get on and off as one likes - rent a car for a few days then move on (I think with some Eur-rail passes one can do this).

- Russia? Trans-Siberian? Orient Express? No that is a bit more adventuresome.

South America? I have no clue about the train system there.

Thank you, Ms. Zizzzzzz,

Its made a difference already...the chaos around me may continue but my internal balance is coming around. It never ceases to amaze me how long distance Reiki will help.
After so many years of living without Reiki, it is still a challenge not to forget to utilize Reiki as often as possible.
I bite my tongue at work because I want to help others who are in pain (coworkers)but know I cant do that without getting labeled as a nut... & possibly endangering my job....Im not strong enough yet to be a "nut" proudly!! BAGL....oh, when will I come out of the REiki closet?

It is getting a bit crowded in this Reiki closet, but there is safety in numbers! ;-) I am partially out, but its a slow and difficult path! But, I like being in the light, and sharing that light!
Glad to hear your internal balance is coming around. So very hard to wander around dizzy, trust me on this!

That is very good, but are you sure you are not projecting your own needs onto others?

It is very easy to be misinformed and to see or know things that are our own issues, how we would feel in that instance, but the fact that you are turned down, means that you may be misinterpreting.

Don't expect people to read your mind. :o}

Hi Priestess

Yes I know what you're saying. I no longer do this - that was the old me I suppose. I think that old way of thinking was me asking for help, not understanding that I get the best help from myself - as we all do.

Now when I recognise a 'need' in someone else I simply recognise it, then look at myself. I've at last realised that its a mirror of what I need to let go of, fix, look at, sort out - whatever. Its something I've known for a long time but didn't quite want to believe it I think.

Its not always easy to think like this about yourself. At first I felt it meant that I was at fault for everything that was happening to everyone else, and of course wouldn't take the blame - I'd had enough of that in my life. Now I see it as us all being one - if I see it or feel it then its about me.

When I find it happening in the family - I start to say something to my son for instance - find I'm criticising some behaviour pattern or whatever - then find I'm really talking about myself. It can be a horrible experience to have an argument/discussion with someone, highlighting their faults or things I want to change - and then I realise what's being said - wow - shocking stuff. Eye-opening to say the least.

It works both ways too - when they're ranting and raving about something (other than me!) I can help them to look at themselves.

I think we also forget that when we recognise that someone is beautiful, helpful, caring, sharing - we are recognising that in ourselves too. We often only focus on the 'nasties' in life and forget the lovely stuff.

I've found mirroring to be one of the most powerful techniques.

Thanks Priestess

Hugs to you too

Eleanor

Dear lumpflink,

This is one of the most powefull lessons I have learned since Reiki came into my life...that what annoys me in someone else is an issue that I havent resolved or faced within myself...and I remember the admonishment not to throw that stone... to look within first.
The mirror is a tough coach...but it knows that we cant SEE what is before us.
" The Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. All of us, gazing on the Lord's glory with unveiled faces, are being transformed from glory to glory into his very image by the Lord who is the Spirit."
- 2 Corinthians, 3,17.
