Otoharo!
Someone today talked about love and i can not recall who it was. This is what I have learned regarding love.
These things are not love:
attachments
obligation
responsibility
strings
Love is the milleau in which we live. Love permeates all of an inhabited planet. It is freely abundant. In our feeling of kinship with ourselves, others, our environment, we autumatically draw on free flowing love. We draw this feeling out to look at, to explore, to savor. Feeling a reprocity with another we tell ourselves this is love. In our youth, sex teaches us deeper meanings of love, but we knew love long before we knew sex. As we feel the softness, we label it love. All the enrichments, serenity, peace, quiet, calm, these are love attributes. Tumultuousness, jubilation, are love attributes. There is no way we can miss love as it is the Universe caressing us.
Becasue we love, we can take responsibility. Because we love we can enjoy another without strings, attachments. Because we love, we can act without feeling obligated. Love opens us up to receive as well as projecting out. It's a two way street. However, it does not demand return.

hello finality, what wise beautiful words. Yes love is abundant everywhere, why do so many of us so frequently cut our selves off from the flow and source?
best wishes
denise.

Finality,
Very well explained.
I think love oneself first, be open and do not have preconceived expectations or demands allows love to come and/or go in it's fullest and most free flowing manner.

finality,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- so, are you saying there was 'love' before there were 'humans' on the planet? That primates or other animals experience 'love'?
- I have to wonder whether our ancient ancestors such as Australopithicus and others 'felt' love??
- they certainly did procreate, however.
>:-}}
- for myself? I try to be Mindful of projections I might launch at 'non-human' species

Otoharo!
Firekeeper, I am glad you brought this out. Not only sex but mother love is a part of the biology of a human from the time of the first human will function. When the twelve melchezadeks were here followed by a hundred HEB's their purpose was to hold spiritual energy to sustain them during their early development. Love already existed as the gel that holds molecules together. That is where the expression love is the Universe caressing us comes from. Our individual experience with love is the picture we show to the world as well as the diagnosis tool for counselors.

finality,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- you say: "Our individual experience with love is the picture we show to the world as well as the diagnosis tool for counselors."
- one view is that you simply refer to Personna
- you say: "Love already existed as the gel that holds molecules together"
- for myself?? I have no clue as to which molecules you refer. Atoms are mostly 'space' (not gel); thus molecules made up of atoms are mostly space; which means we are mostly space (not water [or gel]}
>:-}}
- if by "glue you are suggesting a "spiritual glue"?? then the molecules of wombats would have the same spiritual glue as we 'advanced'
humans
>:-}}
- and we still have not addressed the matter of whether hyena mothers have "love" for their pups? Only in animals other than man - the great apes, whales and dolphins, and elephants has any semblance of "feeling" been observed - for the rest maternal instinct is, well just that, hard-wired
- this is not to say, however, that hyenas do not have Buddha-nature (perhaps this is the 'spiritual glue' or gel to which you allude??)
>:-}}
- as for the twelve melchezideks?? For myself? I have to place this in new age judeo-christian mythology (some allusion or other metaphor for the 12 disciples or some spiritual precursor to them) and will allow it to rest or languish there - whichever works
>:-}}
- and 12-strand DNA theory so far as I can tell appears to be just that, spiritual theory
>:-}}
- but, I enjoy a good discussion
- reiki all around,

Firekeeper, Yeah, it is fun!
OK, you made a statement that caught my ear. "Maybe, I am talking about budha nature". If so then, I can better understand what all of you with this background talk about. In my training, there are two basic energies, joy and love. Joy is the outward thrusting energy, love is the pulling in toward the center energy. All energies originate in the Souce. They leave the Source as joy. Parrelling is the pull back to the Source, which is love. Neither is substance, just energy. But the pull back to center is what gels energy into substance. At least that is how I perceive it. All energy is Souce energy expressing either as thrusting out or pulling in. Our pulling in toward a fellow is our loving of that fellow. Thrrsting outward is joyful adventure! Males and females feel both the thrust for adventure and the pull toward home. We are each male, thrust, and female, pull toward home, both joy and love at the same time. Thus we love each other for our differences and our commonalities.
