Oh, your girlfriend reminds me of one time I tried to quit about 9 or 10 yrs ago. I was apparently so cranky (to put it nicely), after 4 or 5 days the people who worked for me bought me a pack of cigs and told me to go downstairs and have a drink. LOL Of course, trying to quit while working at an extremely stressful job probably wasn't the greatest idea anyway. I quit shortly after.

I'm lucky in that my husband doesn't smoke and I don't smoke in the house. Its almost too bad the weather out here is nice most of the time. And when its raining we even go outside (its such a rare and special occurance - that it needs to be acknowledged by dancing in the rain and splashing in the puddles.)

Dear Dave,

That's easy easy one (yeah, right) ; an exercise and or Yoga persuit. And or doing things that you like or might like that keep you in motion during your smoking hours.

Did you ever get those pics I sent of my motor bicycle?

Namaste,
Michael

Hi Finality

I must admit that for the first few days I was finding butt end of cigerettes that I had half smoked. Every single one reminded me why I had giving up.
Now the smell of someone smoking outside does make me want one, but the smell of stale smoke in a room or on people is very repulsive.

I do think that the addictive chemicals in them does make it hard for your body to let go of the want. That is why they are put there, to keep you hooked.

Over the last 18months or so, I have been smoking rolling tobacco, which dosn't have so many nasty chemicals in it, that has made it easier for me to stop.

Yes I do have cravings, but they are controlable.I just acknowledge them and let them go. They will stop. I will have more money and be fitter and I won't smell like a stale ashtray. Plus teh added advantage of not having that nasty cough anymore
(LOL)

Wonderful!
I quit cold turkey once for a year. Was about the hardest thing I have ever done. This time I think I have, for my self, spent alot more time on healing the "why".

blessings to you

Years ago, my Dad had a heart attack and a quadruple bypass. He had smoked two packs a day from age 15 to about age 65. After the bypass, he never had the slightest urge for a cigarette. This makes me think now that the heart attack itself or the surgery changed something energetically in the heart area, because I find it hard to believe how EASY it was for him to quit. I can't believe it was just fear........
Maybe there are posts below on this, but I believe there are acupressure points that are quite helpful.....

Hi Rob,

main driving force was that I have no money at the moment, so even if I did want to smoke I can't, cos I can't buy them (LOL)

LOL! Always something positive in negative situations eh?

With light and love,

Dave don't kick yourself there is no need. Punishment is really not the way at all it's much easier than that.

This is a practical aid and not Reiki but I've put the name of a book title on the book club board. Check it out Dave, it really is a great help and certainly changes the mind set. It's possible to quit pain free and not even feel like you're 'missing out'.

Nice to 'see' you again Dave,
Take care eh.
