Reviewing the past

Otoharo!

The recent talk about how slow messages roll over, has raised some dread for me. I find it helpful to review where I was when I began clogging in, what the subject matters were, compared to now. It is fascinating to me. If it becomes necessary to delete the past, I would like to be warned ahead of time so that I can take some notes. I would simply take notes now, but it is much more fun actually reading the logs. Does anyone else do that? I have shared all my difficulties with ego. My what a struggle I had. And how much help you all have been to me. But I do not this review often, since I know it is still there when I need it. If Mike reads this, please Mike let us know what is what. I am willing to contribute to the exprence of whatever it takes to keep the histroy of the past.

Finality,

You bring up a very good point. Perhaps they can be archived and placed on a special board here.

I would recommend you either go through them now and save them or print them out so they may be used as a journal for you since they are meaningful and helpful to you. Just in case.

I only read many past messages when I first came in to the Cafe' as this does take much time to read everything.

I agree it is good to preserve the past.

Hi Finality

If it should happen that the archives get deleted, do you have a record of the post numbers that you would like kept.
If so just e mail them to me and I will do the saving for you and put them into Word or another word processeing package, so that you can keep them on your PC.

Of course you could do this yourself :-)), but if you are unsure as to how just ask and no doubt you will get many answears (LOL) all condriting the last no doubt (LOL)

Namaste

Rob, This was such a good idea I began trying to find my beginning and taking notes. This has consumed all of the intervening days and I am only down to 2002. So far I am showing my best face! I guess the worst has been since then! When I have the list, I will ask you for further directions on placing them in word perfect. What I noticed is that my replies per se do not give enough background, without the question I am replying to. or the topic I am commenting on. So it gets tricky.

finality,

/*\ Namaste :-}}

- as far as I know the full list of Posts for the last several years will be maintained (having them available to review has any number of benefits)

>:-}}

- thanks, Mike!!

- the issue right now is that the pages are loading more slowly, especially when opening specific Posts

- the eventual upgrade should restore the efficiency we all have enjoyed in the past

>:-}}

- the idea of contributions to Mike to help pay for this fairly significant upgrade is a good one (though I do not know if he would accept financial help - strings, and all that mess) but perhaps asking about it might be better made via personal E-mail with him
