OK, I was having some work done on "past life" stuff, and was asked to bring back something I needed. It was a basket of smooth gray stones, about 3-4 inches long. The RM who worked on me said these stones were used by ancient Celtic healers in bodywork and suggested I look into this. Clues ? Is this related to the hot stone massages people are doing lately or something different?
Thanks, friends!!

Feather,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- might depend on the size of the stones you "retrieved" - some were use as rune stones - but these were often smaller - maybe 1-3 inches.
- larger, smoothe and rounded river-cobbles might well have been used in massage work - I have not read anywhere any specific references to this but I do not see why it would not have been done -
>:-}} I mean who would refuse a good massage??
>:-}}
- one thing too - healing in those times was often a private tradition passed from one healer to the next - not a common knowledge thing - thus such knowledge and information was prone to getting lost - or worse distorted.
Hope this helps,

Namaste, Firekeeper,
thanks for your response. These were around 3 inches, maybe 4 inches.It was a very full basket. there were probably ten on the top layer, and the basket was about a half bushel. I would guess that would be heavy! I will keep my mind open about the possibility of runes. That has crossed my path often in the last few months, although I know little about it. I am beginning to get some sensations about the stones, so maybe I will get more information. I have never had a massage with stones, I have no idea how that works. Maybe I should look into that!
Blessings!

Casting Runes is an ancient "celtic"\Nordic method of Divination - sometimes the Runes were etched or painted in\on wood pieces made for the purpose.
>:-}}
- runes stones are usuallly small - so can fit in a pouch and be carried on one's person.
>:-}}
- another olde nordic tradition is to heat larger stones and put them under the sleeping pads in the winter for warmth at night -
- no reason to think they may not also have wrapped up some heated stones in animal skins or something and used for heating pads or massage aides.

Hello feather I was wondering if you had anymore insight into your Celtic river stones. I was wondering if you could describe the sahpe were they smooth and oval and could fit easily in the palm of your hand or were theyflat and rectangular? I have some background and interest in the ancient Celts of Ireland. It may be interesting for you to find an alternative bookstore in your area. I know that I have seen ads for people who discuss Celtic ways. I got a really strong sense that these stones may have been used in a scared circle ritual. Perhaps one of the other menmbers here could help. I did notice some UK/Irish members. I wish you well in your quest . Please keep me updated.

Hello, mdsmom,
thank you for your interest. The stones were about 3" long, very smooth, as if smoothed by a river. They were not flat, but oval or oblong and maybe an inch and a half thick . They would fit, but fill the palm of my hand. I had a basket of them (like I told Firekeeper, about a half bushel size.) the stones were all pretty uniform in size. I did some surfing last night about stones in massage and really did not come up with anything that rang a bell. I think I picked them up about 45 lifetimes ago, atleast that is the number that came to me. And I picked them up from a time when I had gotten myself in trouble for "healing ways." Seemed like I lived in a large stone structure, maybe a castle? Perhaps you have something there about a sacred circle ritual? I have enjoyed labyrinth walks and I am very devoted to the circle as a sacred structure. Will keep my eyes open for more hints. Thanks so much!

Hello I was wondering if ypu had established which Celts and the approximate time frame. I am most familiar with the Irish Celtic tradtions. I was thinking about your descriptiiion and I know that Ihad come across it somewhere in my reading. I would suggest the following author Morgan LLewlyn. She has written several books historical fictions about Irish history. There is one I believe about Celts. I just can't remeber the name. Also Kenny's bookstore in Galway City Galway Ireland might be able to direct your query about the ancient Celts. There were several stone structures built by the ancient Celts other than castles. However I do believe that each castle had a druid and/witch living outside the walls. I visited the one at Blarney Castle in County Cork Ireland on my last visit there. I know that for myself that sometimes exposing any information opens some new channels. Best wishes

mdsmom,
Well, if it was 45 lifetimes ago, I don't really know. Some lifetimes are very brief! And some say there can be a 40 to 50 year span between lifetimes. I believe I was wearing slipper type shoes with a little point in the air, like "elf" shoes. The building was not fancy, but big and stone. There was a man with me , whom I believe had "powers", but he betrayed me somehow. The weather was temperate, not too hot, not too cold. Other than that, I have no more clues. I will look and see if I can find any of the books or authors you mentioned.
Thanks, Feather

Is this anything like "La Stones"-- the kind used for massage that one may find at most any spa!?
