Hi All,

"the single best predictor of future behavior is past behavior"

finality,

Hi.

And hopefully for the better.

;)

The olde saw only instructs that past behavior is the single best predictor of future behavior. There are other predictors, naturally. I might offer too that as you suggest ("no predicting how") it is difficult to 'anticipate' behavior change under the influences of many circumstances (even any big shifts that might happen along)

:)

Rc..
I guess that only applies if "we" did not have
access to Healing.
Since we do..
I don't get it?
Leave out to many options..

Joe,

Hi.

I do not apprehend that the olde saw suggests that there are no other possibilites. I would say it does suggest that some current behavior will very well relfect behavior of the past and be a good signal as to what will be carried into the future. Yet, the olde saw does not stipulate the nature of the behavior to which it refers. It simply refers to behavior (good, bad, or otherwise)

:)

And, the olde saw in no way leaves out the possibility that we can "do better" in those areas in which this is appropriate. And to call such "change" healing" is not, a priori, problematic for me. I would also say that part of this is being able to see the need for "healing". Not being so able or ignoring the flashing lights is also "behavior".

:)

And, we must not, likewise, rule out the possibility that future behavior will "deteriorate" from its current state thus showing that past behavior is not always a reliable predictor of future behavior (even if it remains the 'single' best predictor).

;)

Cheers (a toast to chameleons)
