The Reiki Cafe

Thank you for keeping this board.

My wife is a social worker and has gone to court many time because boundaries were broken on the internet with students under 18. The stories she tells are ones of betrayal and abuse. So I - til recently - stayed away from boards, chat rooms, emailing folks I don't know and the like. But I tried this cafe, because Reiki has been different for me.

So far the Reiki cafe has been incredibly respectful. Folks are great with boundaries and appropriateness.

My question: I like reading your messages about things I have not even heard/or dreamt of. [I think I thought my first workshop was on speed *reading* - not sure *Reiki* was what I was getting into].

I also enjoy your humor, your ability to say volumes in a few keystrokes [I don't have that skill] and your poetic and spacious text-graphic designs.

What I can't read [here comes the symbol-y-challenged part] are those enigmatic symbols that couch your pithy, encouraging, informative and supportive phrases.

I don't necessary need to know. And I don't want to be presumptious as if I were trying to decode you ... but I was always taught that is not wrong to ask questions when you are wondering. How else will one learn? Is there a website with symbol meanings available? I would be glad to visit one.

Or ...

And this is what I really think is going on: you have taken a shamanic flight into an alternate reality and you only come out to visit us periodically to exercise your fingers and so that you will not totally forget the English language. Then, the symbols would be traces or remnants of those realities scattered before us like pixie dust to ... to ... to ... entice us to fly as well or [fill in blank]

Or you are a science fiction writer from another planet and the entire board participants are writing material to give you background for the *fictional* characters in a very long series of out-of-this-world novels.

Consider this a serious request or not.
