Hello!

I was contacted today by someone who has a ghost roaming about in their house. They are not comfortable with this and want to "get rid of it". The interesting thing is that the house was built only 1 year ago but on old farm-land. So I suspect this spirit is connected to perhaps a house that was there before. Since we don't know anything about this land before the house and what could have transpired, it is difficult to understand why the spirit appears - and only on the 16th of every month. I know one can dowse with burning sage. But is there anything else that can be done to ease this poor spirit? It would be interesting to know if anyone else has had similar experiences and how they dealt wit this. My friends definitively do not want to live with the ghost, although it's pretty friendly.

Ghosts are not always easy to get rid of. I know some ghost-busters who have a difficult time. :o}

I know some things that will move them on, if you would like to email me. Probably very similar to what Firekeeper tells you. (hi Peter!)

My feelings about ghosts, are that if they are not disruptive, and only there once a month, leave them alone.

I would suspect that there is a source of water near the house. If not above ground, then underground and quite near. Spirits tend to be more visible near moving water.

It may also be a spirit that is attached to one of them instead of the house, and their energy on the 16th makes him more visible.

Also what is going on around the 16th at that house? Why only the 16th, in other words. Is he visiting the other people in the neighborhood the rest of the month? Sort of like your maiden aunt who lives with all the relatives a short time every year?

How do they know the ghost is friendly? Did the manifestations begin when they first moved in, or take time to develop?

Just found your note - as it is coming up to the 16th you may also like to consider the following:

My parents had a spirit who would walk up their back walkway (even my dog sensed its presence). Although this started when the house was newly built, her visits lasted for 30 years, and she was never "troublesome"...just a visitor.

My mother felt sorry for her after so much time, but didn't know what she could do...
It was suggested that next time the lady came, my mother acknowledged her presence and explained that it wasn't necessary to remain there and that she was released with love to move to the next realm.

There have been no more sightings (at least 20 months now)...but the funny thing is that after 30 years she had become a part of the family and my mother now misses her visits! (something she didn't think would happen)

Don't know how these people feel about their presence - but this release was down with compassion and love...

Dear Priestess,

I have been away for a few weeks, and saw your post/question.
There really is not much to tell other than my friends chose not to do anything. The spirit visited again on the 16th. of this month. They were hoping it would go away on its own. I do not beleive it will, but I will leave it up to them to decide what to do of course. I have given them the different ways and options.
