Hi Friends,
For those of you who may be interested, my store has started carrying canned haggis. You may think this is a joke, but I'm dead serious. Now you can have your haggis and save a trip to Scotland.
Blessings,
Roxy

roxy,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- a trip to Scotland is, of course, a whole different kettle of squatlobster than haggis. And there are few places one can get proper haggis outside The Highlands.
>:-}}....
- have you tried it? Maybe I could order a can to see if it is anything more than 'highland spam'
- being that there are spammers everywhere these days

my dearest Rebecca,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- a jolly kind gesture
>:-}}
- but, I will have to warn my friend Hamish the Haggis to call before visiting just in case a can might be left out in view.
bagl
- by the way, I might also suggest you save the $$$ and put it towards a trip to Scotland. If you won't try haggis at least the squatlobster is excellent.

Hi Roxy
This clears up the mystry of the Haggis once and for all?
The English and the Scottish have had banter between themselves for ages regarding the haggis, I for one (English) have been for many years under the impression that the "weeee beasti" flew in from Ireland at 10 meters above sea level, and was eventually intercepted on the Scottish coast line, being caught in netts as it tried to gain hight over the cliffs, or shot as it landed in the trees on the mainland for a rest.
Just had to join in hope no one is offended

Neil,

- Haggises do not, of course, have wings. However, flight is still possible for some magical creatures.

Dear holobon
I just could not resist the banter re the haggis, when I last tasted the wee beasti at a traditional Burns night coupled with a few drams of single malt it is a true Scottish delicacy.
The haggis is carried into the room on a silver platter followed or preceeded by a Scottish Piper in full traditional dress, the platter is placed on the table and given a welcome to the event prior to being cut open with a Scottish Highlanders dirk, followed by poems and songs of Robbie Burns.
It is a night to remember providing you don't have to many single malt's

Dear Firekeeper,
Yes, just spamming for the store where I work.

Dear Firekeeper,
We certainly would not want to offend Hamish.
:-))
I will keep the squatlobster in mind should I ever be fortunate enough to visit Scotland.

Neil,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- the best haggis I have ever eaten was prepared by Peter MacGregor (using his wife Jaqui's recipe) and served on a stormy night, fireplace alight, at the Borgie Lodge, Tongue, Sutherland, Northern Scotland.
- a dram or two of Glenmorangie 12 year olde Port Wood and heaven was at hand

- well, as I always say, sometimes when the chantrelles are in season and the kitchen counter is awash in them: there is a fungus among us
- but 911 will never hear from me
