Does anyone have recommendations regarding resources regarding thought forms, other than those of the Theosophist movement? Any that come from the field of psychology or the religous or scientific traditions would be appreciated. Im looking for authors or teachers with verifiable training, experience & standing ( by that I mean "respect", not power) in their communities, primitive or sophisticated. In other words, a source a bit more formal than a friend of a friend or a website, etc.
peace & joy,

holobon,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- thought-forms and their relations may be named in other ways in other 'disicplines'
- there is plenty to read in the Occult Studies section of a good library as well as in the field of Paraspychology which will have 'recognized' experts within the field
- whether those folks are 'recognized' by the larger, traditional scientific community is another matter, of course
bagl
- good hunting

Holobon,
Namaste. It is exciting to start researching about "thoughforms" in various disciplines.
In looking into Hinduism or eastern philosophies, I enjoyed reading books by Vivekananda (there are 10 volumes: The Complete Works of Swamy Vivekananda), Paramahamsa Yogananda, books about the Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads. I found Sri Aurobindo to be very hard reading. There are books by Ramana Maharishi.
In Budhism, I enjoyed books by Thich Nhat Hanh, the Dalai Lama, Robert Thurman.
Enhance your life type books by Dr.Wayne Dyer and Deepak Chopra.
There are even a lot of New age "junky" books(usually in the library shelves)that are good, easy reading.
Enjoy :)

doing research on "cognitve schemas" in the psychological field will help you.
look up the terms "groupthink", the "Stanford Prison Experiment"
The study of communication also has a rich resource of empirical information on how what the esoteric community defines as "thoughtforms" affects our reality, and how to bend
it. Research on "propaganda" from the Communication feild will be helpful as well.
These are from a more empirical perspective.
Wow, even science seems to say that our experience of reality is subjective and a subjective consensus defines what most see as reality- even we can mold it.
