Have you ever asked for healing in His name? And if yes, was your prayer answered?

Dear Whatever,
I've prayed to Jesus something, and it was answer, but it turned out to be gods will. Now that that has happened, I really have come to believe is that the only proper prayes are for "Thy will be done" and for srenth and guidance. As for healing, it will only work if what your praying for is God's will.
Best wishs,
Roxy

- how is it unkind??
- it seems to be quite true (if one puts any stock in prayers)

Oh, Firekeeper, you know what I meant...Maybe I 'll tell you a little story to illustrate this point another time. Right now, I just need to take it easy. I 'm thinking of going away for a couple of weeks. That means I 'll be offline for sometime... Please don't be alarmed by my absence. :)
Blessings,

Obfuc, wha? Me little person, don't know what big words mean.
Seriously, If you ask in God's of Jesus's name, don't have expectations or if something good happens don't make association wi8th your prayer, or you might get swelled head. I suppose it's the same with any energy work really.
Having said that. I had an experience once with calling Jesus Christ's name three times.
I dreamt I was at the bottom of a hill, at twillight, But everything was in shades of grey. A ring o imps/devils were dancing at the top. I saw them, and ran into a log cabin that had no windows, or at least they were shuttered. The devils had seen me. They began to circle the cabin, trying to get in. Faster and faster. There was a big wind circling the house. The whole building began to shake. I called his name with all the conviction within me, balls to bone.
I woke up. I was never so happy to wake up in my life.

Hey whatever,
have you ever asked for healing in your name? Or in the name of I AM that I AM?
What part of you is not a part of the Whole?
We are so mixed up in all this. Its so important to claim our Divinity and understand there is no separation between you and me or our Creator.. All Is One.. :}
That is why when doing healing works it is great to see the person you are working with as healed and whole. As perfection like Creator created them. This way you infuse them with this reminder/vibration and its like a boost for them to be reminded of this perfection..
Blesings and Light always

Otoharo!
Just yesterday, I discovered that the reason one asks is that asking is your door opener. If you are not open to receive then you do not recieve whatever is there. So I stopped questioning. I always ask, and I always recieve even if what I receive may seem somewhat off the subject, it turns out to be anyway, the subject gets turned into it.
I am a muscian and spend my days writing music as I have shared so often. The beauty of this activity is that it takes me out of my head, and answers come to all kinds of questions I have put out. sometimes I wonder what question brought this answer. So I humbly ask.
It feels to me that God's will has to be that MY will be done otherwise why have free will? So I sometimes shift it and say, it is my will that your will be done in this situation. Even that seems to always follow what was my will anyway. I just can't conceive of The Souce of All Things sitting back so to speak and watching everything unfold, but at the same time asserting influence over what unfolds. That would be having the Holy taking our power away or else us giving up our power which was given to us anyway for us not anyone else.
Religeons really are the works of people and usually of people who are after power over others. And the Holy looks on and likely smiles at the absurdity of it all.

I love this thread.
I don't call my God Jesus, but I do believe that he was a very wise person and, pehaps, even an energy healer (isn't that an aura around his head??)
I believe as well that when we do anything out of love or with the intention of imparting the highest and best good for another person, that we are doing God's work. This ties in with whatever's ( or someone's--?) post about God's will, too---ultimately we probably cannot influence what "God" or "Jesus" or "Mother Earth" has planned---in fact, whenever I try to do that I am reminded that my god has a wicked sense of humor and might just give me what I ask for---and teach me a valuable lesson in the process!
Last August I had the terrible experience of standing at the bedside of my cousin's 17-year old son who was on life support after a car accident. He was virtually brain dead. As I put my hands on him, I realized that I didn't know what to ask for---his father begged me to "work my magic" on him. But I knew that if I prayed for his life to continue, it could well be a hellish life indeed. His parents were asking me to spare their pain, but was that really the highest and best for the son? So I put my hand on him and asked the Great Spirit that his will for this family be done and if it was to be that
Blaine died, I prayed that it would be a comfortable death and that his family could more easily make peace with it.
Well two days later they turned off the machines and Blaine died quickly. Since then I have never seen a family fall apart so quickly---but truth be told, they were toxic to begin with. Perhaps falling apart will be the best thing that could happen---my cousin is out of his twisted marriage and is receiving counseling. I have to believe that their peace and healing will come, in it's own way and time, and not mine.
Hope I haven't veered off the subject too much. I feel that the healing energy I channel comes from my god. It's not manufactured in my body, by my body--it comes from the universe and the earth. If invoking god's name strengthens that, well, amen.

Oh, yeah, and just another thought, since I was just reading eirelassey's thread aobut the Catholic church and Reiki:
I think it is a far more Christian thing to invoke the name of Christ in an attempt to heal someone, than to use the name of Christ as an excuse to hate someone.
So, go for it.

Even though I no longer profess a faith in any one religion, I do believe that Jesus was and is an awesome Master, Teacher, and Healer. For some reason, whenever I do Reiki, I ask for this wisdom, compassion and power that he embodied. I also call upon various Archangels. I never ask for any specific outcome, just for their presence in the circle. It is good to have friends in circle, even if we can't see a physical body. Does it help? It keeps me mindful and sometimes interesting things happen. Who knows why? For example, maybe I have my hands over a certain part of the person's body and I call silently for help from the "circle". I feel great flow or see something. After the session, the person on the table will frequently say that at that point, something very interesting happened for them as well.
Peace,
Feather

maybe, still hellishly scary though. I once dreamt that there was this devil trying to trick me, but I laughed in it's face. It didn't have any power over me, It was livid. couldn't do a thing.

Feather, I agree with you on htis. I, too, have help while being reiki. Once after a particular healing time, the client thanksed me and said she felt Jesus' hand on her back. This was a particular healing of a heart condition.
