New Supervisor

Recently my supervisor announced that he will resign and the other person will be our supervisor. As I was working with my supervisor for 6 years, he was a very good manager, organiser, reliable etc. The new one is almost opposite to the first one. Even though the new one is a very nice person but I was very worried about our future work. I know it sounds silly but I get upset and cried worrying what to do in the future working with her. I love my job very much and I like to see everything's well organised not to mess up. Maybe I am too fussy? Any advices would be much appreciated. Thanks
Dawn

Dear Dawn,
Change can be upsetting but nothing we can do about it, it is part of life, especially in the work environment. Someone once told me that the only thing you can be sure of is change! Sounds like you are grieving the loss of a good working relationship with your supervisor...you are blessed to have had that for so long. Find a way to let go of the desire for the status quo and you might open up some space for someone new. :) I do know how you feel, working under a supervisor who you respect makes for a great work environment. But change can bring growth.

peace & joy,
holobon

Dawn,

Hi,

Try not to do all that anticipatory worrying. This person, with the a new position, needs a chance to adjust as well. Don't sell her short so soon.

:)

If you do your job cheerfully and ethically and with dedication you have done your part; and more than some are willing to do.

:)

Cheers,

RC
