Years ago, I went to see this healer. She worked both as an acupuncturist and a spiritual healer. I was rather impressed with her cause everytime I went I experienced powerful healings with visible results( I mean in 4D terms). I could not understand tho...if she was such a good energy healer why bother with the needles? So I asked her one day:
''Spiritual healing seems to me of a higher vibration than all other forms(of healing). So why do you work as an acupuncturist as well?''
''Well, some people think they need needles to get well. And some people think they need spiritual healing.''
I should have been enlightened there and then. not sure what went wrong. ;-)
Blessings,
Whatever

- then, how is it that 'the needles' work where the accupuncturist (and the client) are not 'spiritual' believers?

Otoharo!
My brother is an acupunctureist and is very skillful at it. He was also a scientist. He said his teacher despaired of his ever learning healing because of his strong mental capacity. But he did. He rescued me several times. Before learning this healing, he learned and became a teacher of Anada Marga Yoga. I have seen him in his class, with energy streaming out the side of his body, lying in the center of the room assessible to all there. So from time to time, as I say, he has rescued me. My body receives whatever and recovers quickly. The most dramatic incident was in 87, when I had the flu that made the rounds in New Mexico. It knocked a person out! My boss said he had to crawl to get to the bath room with his dogs, thinking this was playtime, all the way. I was so sick!
When I called my brother he could hardly hear my voice it was so weak. He drove 200 miles to get to me, bringing our sister along. He wanted to take me back to his home and my boss agreed, since he knew how devastating this flu was. It took a month for me to recover. So whether it was the accupuncture, the spiritual healing, or what, I took it and did recover. This is long before any of us had heard of reiki. Accupuncture is very effective. I had treatments later on a regular weekly basis. It reenergized me for the week ahead.

Well, dear firekeeper, one view would be that the belief in healing thru acupuncture and the actual meridians etc are part of the collective unconscious. And so you could say they work even for people who don't consciously believe in them. Another view would be that both the acupuncturist and the client have a deeply ingrained belief(subconscious programming) that they can heal/be healed. And therefore they do. If it were not the needles, it could have been something else.

Whatever

whatever,

- the Meridians really have nothing to do with the Collective Unconscious or vise versa (and I am not sure how you are using CU here) - but, both exist but in rather different 'realms' and for rather different reasons
- accupuncture will likely work regardless of belief (if the accupuncture will work at all)
- afterall, why would one have such a strong intention to not get well if a procedure will help?
>:-}}
- you said, in part: "If it were not the needles, it could have been something else."
- that really begs my original question and I am not sure how it helps us
- and, to talk about unconscious beliefs really does not explain anything either since one cannot know the content of those beliefs (the contents of the unconscious being largely unknown, afterall)

Dear Whatever,
The remark strikes me as simple practicality.

Maybe she offers both because she wants to reach as many people as possible and not restrict her healings to people who only believe in spiritual healing.
I too am a fan of acupuncture, it has helped me a lot in the past.

Hi Allycat. Been reading threan on spirlual healing. Seems to me all healing is about energy with a lot of different names. The forms we use are different, Reiki, acupuncture,...........? The point is healing happens, and that we can not uderstand. Its about accepting. Accept the brerath you have, the gifts you have and feel gratitude. Gratitude feels great and thats the feeling we want to live our life in. Its seems like when i try to understand it in my mind or explain it or justify it i loose it. Its been said that to be in that place it takes the innocents of a child and all the wisdom of the ages and when you are their ther is no words. Jerryji
