Greetings!

Does anyone have any tips on how to deal with a gossipy relative. I believe this person gossips about me and other members of the family. A friend told me this person gossiped about several members of our family. Most live in dread of this person and tries to be on their good side so as not to be gossiped about. I finally confronted this person when she started complaining about a relative who she had previously gossiped about. She hit the roof and hung up on me.

I read a article about a school that had so much trouble with gossip that it passed a law against it, which forced them to define gossip. One, it had to be untrue, two, it had to be malicious.
What we do when someone starts to gossip around us is to say i'm not into gossip and i dont want to hear it and when they say " what do you think of such and such or so and so we say' "i think it's none of my bussness"
Keep it up and they will stop gossiping around you. It's true those that gossip to you will gossip about you, they are not your friends. I see it as brining more darkness and bad energy into the world and i don't want any part of that

Dear Jerrji,
Thank you for those tips. They were most helpful and I consider them tools to aid me in my journey through life. Gossip in some religions is considered worse than killing as Mohammad says, (I'm not Muslim) that if you kill someone, then they are dead yet if you gossip about someone you hurt the person down to 7 generations so it is worse than murder. Something to that effect. thanks, again,
