roxylady,

/*\ Namaste :-}}

- from a somewhat 'purist' point of view the Chakra system and the meridian system addressed in acupuncture\accupressure are rather separate

- viewed in the grander schemes of the human energy matrix they have some overlap

- I would say that if you are serious about them then some study of both is in order

- should keep you busy for a lifetime or three

- take care,

As FK noted, those systems are different although somewhat overlapping. Working on an acupressure point doesn't directly affect the energy of a chakra.

It might be worth considering the concept of nadis and chakras as both are much more aligned with the hindu/ayurvedic concepts of the body's energy matrix. The nadis are points on the body and as far as I recall it is from this source that the Chinese developed their own system of meridians..Perhaps I am being a bit finicky here in terms of concepts and names, as actually it doesn't matter too much, but if you want to study this stuff, then maybe looking within one sytem rather than trying to bind together info from two related systems, might be better.

Blessings,

Steve
