Hello- I am a new member (obviously) and I came here because I was hoping that someone might be able to help me with something. All of my life, since I can remember, I have had this thing happen to me with my hands. It was only a few years ago that I finally realized that whatever this is, is connected to my emotions. Particularly, each end of the emotional extreme, when I am either REALLY happy, in a great mood, or when I am REALLY upset or stressed out, it happens. "IT" is the fact that I have bent every piece of silverware in my kitchen drawer, or anybody else's that I touch, when I am having one of these days when my mood is extremely up or down, bad or good. This is not limited to silverware. It is pretty much anything metal, silver or gold(like jewelry) sometimes to the point it break them. This is not only annoying, i am wondering if something is wrong with me, or am I perfectly normal? I went to a Cherokee indian festival a couple of years ago, and an old indian lady who was selling sage and dreamcatchers and incense asked me to come over to the table. She asked if she could touch my hands. I felt weird about it, but I said, 'ok-sure.." I mean, what could she do to me? (almost my entire family background is Cherokee indian, with Irish and English decent mixed in) So, I didn't feel totally uncomfortable. Long story short, she tells me that she feels that I have great energy flowing through my hands, and asked me if I had ever learned about Reiki.. I told her no, and she said that I should develope my skills.. So, does one thing have anything to do with another? Am i meant to do this? And if so, why is it that I could have such energy and ability to heal in my hands, yet, my health is not the greatest.. If I can do this, why can't I help myself? I am so lost here.. Can anyone offer some information or suggestions? Again, this has been happening my whole life. also, once in my life, when I was super irritated and sick as a 9 year old child, I was at my aunt's house. My glass of coke was on a tall counter, and she was running a loud mixer and couldn't hear me asking her over and over to help me get my glass. Finally, i brattily said " will you just give it to me?!" and the glass MOVED by itself across the count(only about 4 or 5 inches) straight into my hand. My aunt dropped the mixer, cake batter wnt everywhere, and she called the pastor from her church to come and pray with me, because she thought that maybe something demonic had happened to me. I promised to never do it again, yet I still didn't even realize exactly what I had done, how it happened, how I did it? anywho, suggestions? thanks..

yaya,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- I have never witnessed, in person, the phenomena you describe - once, on TV, I did see Yuri Geller supposedly bend a spoon without touching it - did I believe what I saw??
- I would need to be right there at the table - and get to bring the spoon to be bent
>:-}}
- so, I am not really qualiified to say what your experiences were
- but, there are people like Yuri Geller 'in the profession', so to speak, that might be able to help you figure out what is what
- as for Reiki? Not all energy transmission is as it is in Reiki - so what you describe, energy-wise, may not necessarily make you a 'better' reiki practitioner
- and, several people I have known over the years who were very gifted energy-wise were also plagued with health problems
- so, my suggestion is to seek out others who claim similar 'abilities' who deal with them professionally
- hope this helps

wow! i didnt know that kinda thing was possible! wish i could get things to me without getting out of bed! ;o) god id never get up! only joking....
I count my "illnesses" ( both mental and physical )as a blessing. without them i would not learn anything! I think that we can help others better by first healing and understanding ourselves. So it is not unusual that you dont find yourself in perfect health.
Maybe you should find a way (reiki or otherwise) to direct the energy with the intention of healing yourself.. and from there see where it takes you.

Otoharo!
I would conjecture that you have worked with energy a great deal over many lifetimes and are thus able to exert your power. I certainly would not fear it. If it were me, I would explore all the things that I now can do just as a way to know myself. I would respect it all. As for personal health issues, there is always reiki. In no way would I consider myself or my energy as weird. Have reverence for who and what you are. And arn't.

Hi- I think maybe there was a slight misunderstanding.. the metal bending thing(again, not just silverware, but other metals, including some of my jewelry) have gone "limp noodle" or broken altogether(that mostly has happened to my jewelry) just from picking it up, without trying. i will just be in a really UP mood, or a really down mood, and I will go to the kitchen, persay, to grab something to eat, and I will start to prepare it and reach into the drawer and pull whatever it is that I need out, and before I put utensil to food, it just goes limp, or gets a hump in it. Not trying- just happens. Oh, i have tried to concentrate just out of curiosity to MAKE it happen, but it never does when I am trying to do it on purpose. it happens when my mood is flowing freely, up or down, and I am not thinking about it until i look at my hand or the food and notice. It's kind of annoying, b/c everything in my drawer has humps in it from where they have been bent and I have had to bend them back. I did it at my husband's aunt's house at our last get together(I have not discussed this with anyone but my husband and son until just recently, because I was afraid of what people would think) I was holding a spoon in my hand, talking to his aunt, getting ready to stir some cheese dip, and it went limp right in front of her eyes. I didn't even notice until she had this horrored look on her face and I stopped mid conversation to ask here what was wrong. She asked me how I did it.. and I said "did what"? and she pointed out the fact that the spoon had gone limp. I had to fess up. Now I think she is a little afraid of me. she is acting really weird around me now, like she thinks I am going to use my "voodoo powers" to hurt her or something. Am I a freak or what?

Well I would call your condition highly unusual, but that does not make you a "freak".
Although I have little experience in your area, I would suggest that basically you are feeling tired and having health problems MAYBE because of the fact that you are expending so much energy in these acts (in terms of physics, the energy required to even melt metal to soften it can be quite high in terms of termperature.
Studies of homes with large alledged incidents of poltergeist energy have shown that usually the focus of the incidents is around either emotionally upset teenagers, or disturbed adults. This has given rise to a popular theory of a causal link between extreme emotional states and these poltergeists, which infact may just be telekinetic disturbances similar to yours. (I am in no way implying that you are disturbed, or acting like a teenager, I'm just pointing out the link between emotional states and similar incidences to yours ;) )

- as I suggested earlier, we cannot see what you are talking about when it happens so have no way of assessing what is actually occurring
- so, to perhaps help understand better, it might do to demonstrate this phenomenon, in person, to someone who deals with that sort of thing
- good luck.

Apparently Yuri Geller was on some Tv show where they switched the set of spoons he brought with him and apparently he had problems on the spoon bending angle.
wish I could remember the specifics.
But maybe one day i too can claim to be a great ruiner of silverware.
cool trick or not, someone would be promptly replacing my utensils.

Dear Yaya,
Bending metal is unusal to me I must say. Does that mean you have to warn people with braces etc?
