Experience with aura

Hello, I'm new to the boards and new to Reiki. Well, new to a lot of things so please bear with me. :P I'd read some about auras and was interested but for some reason I assumed I wouldn't be able to see them. Yesterday I was sitting by my husband and looking at his knee joint but not really focusing on it. He has a lot of pain in his knees, especially that particular one. I was wishing I could help him and all the sudden I saw a band of clear green light around his knee. I knew it must have been an aura but I'm not sure what it indicated exactly. Today I read some more about auras and I tried clearing my mind and not focusing my eyes and tried to see my own aura. It seemed to surround me just on the edge of my peripheral vision. It was mostly clear light pink with some lilac and one strip of clear green with a tiny yellow edge to it. When I closed my eyes and tried to feel it, I got a sense of purple, green, and deep blue. I went and looked in the mirror and concentrated on allowing my sight to soften. There it was again! The same pink and lilac were around my head. Above it was kind of a white space with a little curved edge like a pale rainbow. I couldn't believe it. I feel kind of shaken by it, maybe because I've always been odd anyway and this is just another evidence of it. It's exciting too though. I'm not sure I really have a specific question. I would just appreciate anyways insights and thoughts.

Oh, one thing that did confuse me, I read on a couple of websites devoted to auras that pink and purple cannot be major colors in an aura. That seemed a bit of a blanket statement to me. On the other hand, I wondered if I'd seen wrong somehow. Again, I'd appreciate any insights.

jadeswan,

/*\ Namaste :-}}

- at various times the various energy bodies may appear to eminate various hues - though pink is not one of the usual ones - it is in the red spectrum so perhaps you interpretted a 'weak red' as pink

- the activity of the Chakras may also play into this and not all Chakra systems uniformily assign colors - thought the disagreements are not often large

- and, it is said that we may also see thru one energy body or another at various times depending on our state of mind and our intentions

- for myself, I have not tried seeing my own aura in a mirror (unless the room is essentially dark, one must be very careful about the play of light that can occur with mirrors)

- however, I have managed to see something of my aura some years ago during a session with my scrying bowl

- hope this helps

All Blessings,

Thank you for answering. I looked for my aura in the mirror but before that I also softened my vision and saw it as a glow around me in my peripheral vision. Both times it was pink like the color of clouds at sunset. Colors are very important to me so I don't think I mistook red for pink. Perhaps I misinterpreted that it was my aura though. Thank you again for your reply. :)

Inner Peace Movement teaches how to read auras and what they mean. I had this training in the 70's. We have four spiritual gifts, and we have them in a certain order of priority. These are: fire, water, air, earth. Fire people have a red aura which looks pink because the color dots are scattered out. There are moments when a fire person may be red as a beet! Water is blue and sometimes some shade of green. Air is pale violet that pales to while. earth is yellow. Your second priority color may blend in so you may have green, orange, purple, etc. This color is your basic aura color. Emotions blaze with color at times. Physical conditions may bring out some color.

All of us have this color. It is just that few people care about it. Now that you are seeing yourself, you will become more secure with what you see as real. You are not weird, just gifted.

People also decide on certain systems for reading colors which I have found are almost never true. I trust my own knowing.

You need not feel weird about helpers, we all have them, at least one. When you are ready, you can talk to your guide. When I first did this, it was like talking to the air, but the air answered back!

I am lifted by good feelings when I read the posts. I've tried to see my own aura via mirror or just looking at my hand. wishful thinking on my part though.

I recommend that you continue watching the area around your head when looking in the mirror. One day, it will occur to you that there is something there to see! It still will be hazy. Let your eyes catch on to what you are doing, then they will cooperate with you.

Although there are some things that appear to hold true about the colors in auras, there is always the exception. You are seeing the aura through your eyes and experience. Color has meaning. ex: green is associated with healing. Color also carries a vibration which affects other things. Murky, dull colors are considered unhealthy. The meaning of the color can be influenced by your perception of a color. If you truley dislike a color, lets say orange, and you see orange in an aura that could indicate something not well in that area. It would be an indication to you because of your own association with the color orange.

Have taught the granddaughters to see auras by having them look for the energy field around plants and animals. It seems to come easier. Plants and animals are less intimidating to them. Once they have learned to see, I tell them to never get into a car with someone that has no aura.

Enjoy your discoveries
