Greetings and Happy New Year to all, Konichiwa!
Any one have any predictions for the New Year or heard any that seem fun or important to listen to? Besides the usual generic ones. I hope it's a good year to you all.
Peace,
Prosperity

prosperity,
Hi,
I predict with only modest certainty that M Theory will struggle to 'explain ALL' because there is still too much Uncertainty about the essential 'fabric' of 'branes'
:)
Cheers (and, I wonder how one may assert that infinity might be composed of only [and exactly] 11 dimensions),
LOL

Otoharo!
Someone asked someone (I think it was St. Germain) how many dimensions there are. He said 30.

Hi,
And, I would also have to wonder how Infinity would be comprised of exactly (and only) 30 dimensions?
:)

Dear RC and Finality,
11 dimensions? 30? I can only bend my little brain far enough to conceive of four!

aronaya,
Hi,
Bubbles are, sadly, three dimensonal and I know of no theory that would allow any combination of 3-D units to create anything other than a more complex 3-D thing. And, such a 3-D thing would still be 3-D when exposed to the passage of time (4th dimension). One of the issues is: suppose that I claim to be able to see all four dimensions at once? From where am I observing????
:)
Cheers,
RC

Otoharo!
I only know what I read. In Urantia, all the physcial worlds are described as comprising seven milky ways, one of which we can see. These seven milky ways revolve in a giant elyptic around the center of being where all of it began. Then out beyond all this is a band that comprising the many whirling nebuli that astronomers have detected, and beyond that a second such band and beyond that a third such band and beyond that a fourth such band. None of the band are inhabited. The writers (who are not humans) conjecture that HEB's (or finaliters) will one day be the administrators of these worlds.
There is nothing above all this vast physicality. I assume that to be the void.
Even those who are not [physical live on a physical base.
St Germaine answers questions and someone asked him how many dimensions there are. He said thirty.
That is all I know.

I reread todays messages and I think now I do not know what all of you talking about. There must have been something on the news that you are referring to. I bow out since I no longer read the news nor listen to tv.

Hi, RC!
Hmmm...did I say whether the bubbles I had in mind were 3-D?
OK, I won't be coy -- I was thinking more along the lines of space-time curvature, and the metaphor of a 3-D universe as a projection onto the surface of an expanding sphere. This metaphor is often used to explain red shift in the expanding universe.
According to Scientific American, there can theoretically be an infinite number of these "bubble" universes. That gets a little ahead of the story...
Basically, if the space-time of our universe is metaphorically equivalent to the surface of an expanding sphere, then in what dimensions do the spaces inside and outside of the sphere exist?
Your question: "from where am I observing", is exactly the right question. P.D. Ouspensky in "Tertium Organum" has some thoughts (not that I made it past his first chapter), I'm sure Stephen Hawking explains it also, far better than I, and also far more accurately ("A Brief History of Time").
There is also at least one Zen story of enlightenment upon observing bubbles forming. Tantalizing...
So, I was coyly referring to metaphorical bubbles.
Blessings,
Aronaya

By the way, what about all the empty space within the atoms within the cells within our bodies? To what is that empty space connected, dimensionally?

Chuckle! OK, I'll confess, I don't really know what I'm talking about, either. Just speculating, reliving late night rap sessions under the influence of mind-altering substances. No, even earlier in life, speculations and brainstorming with my father on the nature of reality. Sharing the mystic's core conviction, that existing within the Universe is sufficient to allow us to experience its totality directly, what we call Oneness for shorthand. Traveling in verbal wonderlands is one among many ways to find our way to that experience.

Aronaya

aronaya,
Hi,
Metaphor? Illusions, are they not?
LOL
Irregardless, I made it all the way thru Ouspensky and I am sure you and I are not the only folks around here who have read the Hawking book to which you refer.
Now, some might contend that the space between particles is in the same dimension simply because that space is part of what is created to help the particles stay apart (in real time). But folks are moving past particles to Strings and some folks (M theorists) say that strings really are 'not' and the basic fabric of the universe are 'Branes'.
Cheers,
RC

(Blush!) It is my honor.
Have always been inspired by the story of a meeting where Bishop Tutu and the Dalai Lama were both slated to attend. Everyone including Tutu was seated, and the Dalai Lama came in late. On the way to his seat, he stopped by Tutu's chair, leaned over and gave him a vigorous noogie.
If they can play, so can we!

hello Aronaya,
Your story about the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Tutu reminds me of a true tale about one of my daughter's friends.
On a visit to the East with her mother, not many years ago, this lass gained an audience with the Dalai Lama. She is, what is described in U.K. vernacular, a "crusty" and has a whole heap of piercings in her face and half her head shaven.
On being presented to the Dalai Lama, he took one look and fell about laughing. His laughter was so infectious that both the lass and her Mum fell about laughing also.
Apparently, the Dalai Lama is noted for his sense of humour.
I wish I could put on my gravestone that I caused the Dalai lama much unbridled merriment, but I will have to be content with "I danced on stage with Tina Turner" instead!!
Bagl.
Happy New Year
