Point taken about the "wellies"!!
The only problem is that I am always in the mire - it's the depth that varies - usually on an hourly basis!!
I find that the depth requires at least waders but more often than not, a full diving suit.
Btw, the aching ear was admirably cured by a good dram of Aberdour!! - as fine an excuse as any.
