Hello Friends,
I was thinking more along the lines of color. Why do certain colors appeal to some people, while other colors appeal to others?
I've been told by one source, that the colors we choose are th colors of our aura. Another source told me, that the colors we choose represent the chakra we need healing in. There are also theories of healing with color, and psychological associations with color.
So, what the answer?
Blessings,
Roxy

Ms. Roxanne,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- are we static beings??
- do color preferences and choices remain constant over the course of someone's life??
- or
- if we are what we eat, then how are we changing as our dietary patterns and preferences change??
>:-}}
- is it all not simply a matter of perception?? Is this not Samsara, afterall??

Otoharo!
In the clothing I wear and how I desire to decorate my living quarters reflect my aura colors. I feel good in them. and around them. As for chakra colors, Lazaris gave us processes for stimulating our chakras using color along with this process. I do not find a correlation otherwise however. One the other hand, when a person I know had their kundalini at the forehead she saw lots of indigo colors around her. Perhaps that is correlated.
The aura colors reflect the element of our personality. For instance, I am air, earth, water, fire. The colors which go with these are, air= violet or lavendar. earth= yellow. water= green or blue-green. Fire = red. Sometimes pink. So for me, violet, and all mixtures of blue and red are good colors on me, that is, are becoming. Since I am also Taurus born, this is also pink and blue. I doubt there is always a correlation.
If I recall you correctly, there was a lot of yellow around you. This possibly means you are an earth person who is also visual in nature, hence your art work.

Dear Finality,
I've been told that I have a yellow aura, and as far as I can perceive, that is correct. It's interesting though, there was a time that I really disliked the color yellow. That was a time of very low self-esteem for me.
However, in sensing energy, I'm much more a feeling person. Perhaps my ablility to see energy has been blocked by life experience...I'm only beginning to get it back.
Love,
Roxy

Dear Mr. Firekeeper,
No, we are not static beings. And our color preferences change over time. How many children have you known who like the color red, only when they're older choose another color?
Has the preference in color come from some developmental progression? Are young children developing the root chakra first?
And yes, perception. But doesn't what you percieve become interpreted by the mind? What is the criteria for the mind's interpretation?
Blessings,
Ms. Roxy

Perhaps you are water second. Our second gift is also strong. For instance I am air/earth.

Dear Finality,
It's interesting that you would mention that about water. Earlier, I was thinking about which color I personally prefer. I came to the conclusion that it would be blue-green.

Roxy

Ms. Roxanne,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- one view is that asking: "so what the answer" implies some ultimate static condition
>:-}}
- how many children?? That is an empirical question
- has anyone done a longitudinal study of color preferences beginning with infants or very young children?? I don't know, but if you look on the internet you might find some references (the behavioral sciences section of a university library would be even better)
>:-}}
- and, there are those who will report they are able to detect variations in the colors of certain of our energy bodies under various emotional or meditative conditions
- so, perhaps if all emotion is homogonized??
- hope this helps
