Fire the Grid Project

Otoharo!

I am not very good at electrric and electronic things. My alarm clock is electric. So in trying to get it set last night so that I could be up in time for this meditation at 4:11 this morning, I botched it. It got stuck on 3:. So at 3 this morning, I was alerted.

I grabbed two afghans, one for my shoulders and one for my lap and got settled on the couch in my meditation position. (It is cold here). I began and held it for the whole two hours.

And just about the last twenty minutes of that time, reiki began coming into me from my friend. So I am really mellow now.

Today I play again at the farmer's market in town.

If you want a tip on how to get into meditation, I find what Xaris told me years ago the best. Simply listen a moment to the chatter going on in your head, then quietly step into your elevator and go down, noting simply that the chatter is still going on "up there" and I am below. Here I just be quiet while the breath settles into meditation pace and the power begins.

I used to offer an evening meditation time of two or three hours. My group would come in quietly and without any talk just slip into position somewhere. So I got used to staying in position for three hours at a whack.

Hi Finality, namaste,

I am sorry but I have to share the fact that in reading your posting, you gave me a real chuckle!

You say "I grabbed two afghans, one for my shoulders and one for my lap and got settled ...."

I immediately visualised an afghan hound draped around your shoulders, her long ears protecting both you and her from draughts, while another draped himself over your lap, totally comfortable and warm.

Only when reading on did I realise you were talking of rugs!

Enjoy your meditation ....

Love and light

Ha! I love it! Now, you've got me chuckling at such a sight, too, philanty. Thank you for starting my day so nicely. And finaltiy....thank you for your way of settling into meditation.....I love it and will think of thee when I attempt it. Have a wonderful day, my finely feathered friends.

Maybe I have a bad mind, but I pictured you grabng two afghan men, if there is such. I'm glad it were just rugs.

Reiki on!

Actually what we call an afghan is a "throw" which is what the stores call them. They are crocheted, knitted, woven, or fabric 5x6 feet in size. those of us who do handwork are quite familiar with them.
