schools of meditative thought

Recently the buddhist meditation term closed, I found it very informative and helpful, but karma being what it is I was left at a loose end.
I could go to a zen meditation, or wait until the school of kadampa teaching starts again.
walking down the street I met a fella giving pamphlets on hindu philosihy, and just today the teacher of that philiophical disscussion met me on the street.
I've got a book on shamanic drumming.
It's all a little too much for my little brain to fathom.
I'm directed towards god, by many different traditions and the're all the same. Just the methods change.
what, which way to go or choose? noone can advise me but I have to choose.
Has anything similar happened to others? Where everything similar seems to come of a lump and one is left reeling?

Dear Jaguar,

I'd say just relax for a little while, and try not too think about it too much. Perhaps with your mind clear, you will figure out which choice emotionally appeals to you the most.

That's the way I've handled things when stuff gets overwhelming.

Rock On!

Hi roxy,

Thanks, I was just thinking that the whole rigmarole had just been slacking off some. Kind of like a cooling off period.

cool runnings!

Good morn, Jaguar. Why must one choose? Perhaps, you are a stronger individual than most and meet your higher self in the way & manner that's best for you. Sorry, I'm just thinking out loud here. I suspect God smiles at us when we do this...She must be thinking.....why sweat the small stuff....but I realize from my own ponderings that the small stuff we struggle with....even if our own doing....is still important.....and necessary

Dear Jaguar,

Speaking from personal experience, it seems to me that I am chasing that one true philosophy, religion, excercise regime, diet, etc. that I miss what is before me and within me.
Finding the "truth" is a lifelong process that never ends.

I agree, relax and see what comes to you, reflect on what is in your life now. Not so easy but always a worthwhile endeavor.

peace & joy,
holobon

holobon,

Its a realisation.
but even though I know in my head, it still has a way to go before its in my whole being and then I'll probably stop chasing moonbeams, fun though that is.
