Otoharo!
Michael, back in the years that I could talk to Xaris who used someone's else body for that purpose, her remark to us that if we moved directly into our goal we would fry for our bodies are geared to this demenion and have to be aclimated to a higher deminsion. I still hear this statement from my friend who has Xaris with her all the time. It flet to me as though my brain was sort of frying that day I moved too fast. I was so confused I did not know myself!

ponderings,
Hi.
Waiting for others accrues Karma as well.
:)
As for Samsara? I have been stretching this mediocre brain of mine for some succinct and presently relevant 'definition' or symbol or essence of Samsara. And I think I have just the right 'icon'.
It will be my Cafe Avatar which one person has characterized as suggesting I am brain washed and another person, somewhat more kindly, has suggested indicates capacity for independent thought. :)
The disparity of these perceptions and the object involved, I think, quite poignantly reflect 'what is Samsara'.
lol, lol, lol,
Cheers (hope your wait was not in vain),
RC

never in vain, sweet R.C......but I think this just loses me more.....puzzlement!?! Oh, and please forgive me for the other posting where I was asking the same thing.....puzzlement? Highly intelligent beings do this to me, I'm afraid. lol for sure And you didn't ask what ISH stood for.....
Samsara.....perhaps is one's insight? As unique as there are individuals?

ponderings,
Hi,
Insight is really nothing more than an aspect of perception. And, percepion is at the heart of Illusion.
:)
Cheers (googling has its merits),

Hi Ponderings,
This is about the simplest definition of Samsara that I could find from the Britannica:
"In Buddhism and Hinduism, the endless round of birth, death, and rebirth to which all conditioned beings are subject. Samsara is conceived as having no perceptible beginning or end. The particulars of an individual's wanderings in samsara are determined by karma. In Hinduism, moksha is release from samsara. In Buddhism, samsara is transcended by the attainment of nirvana. The range of samsara stretches from the lowliest insect (sometimes the vegetable and mineral kingdoms are included) to Brahma, the highest of the gods."
Hope this helps a bit :)
Gentle Blessings
Helen

And R.C.....I'm doing that for what you've said, too.....I think you mean to make one think....I like that.....as long as it's not chess!!!??? I sure do love our postings and sharings...thank you, thank you, thank you.

ponderings,
Hi.
Chess? Hmmmm. Once again, trying to stretch this mediocre brain of mine, I see that the true possibility of a stalemate in chess might prove to be a bit of a buffalo in the ointment for some views of "what is Samsara".
GOL!!
Cheers (is Samsara a zero-sum existence?)

I've been getting som buddhististic teachings, and (hope I get this correct) samsara=suffering. or a state/a mind of suffering.

Let's break it down:
medi: means middle
ocre: Ocre is a comune and town in the Province of L'Aquila in the Abruzzo region of Italy.
So his brain is in, identifies with or hails from the middle of a town in L'Aquila. That's not so bad. I bet they have good food there and probably country roads great for touring.
