Halloween for adults

Hi dear ones,
For Halloween, I do some trick or treating outside to neighbors house with little tykes but beyond that it seems some older adults do get carried away with the witch thing and let's do ritual crap. It seems so many are taking it to a dangerous level. Even in fun, there seems to be no realization of the astral level entities that can come in to a person.
have a good holiday weekend, protect yourself, little ones, and hope you all set safe boundries,
peace,
prosperity

prosperity,

Hi,

Careless, mindless, harmful rituals are just that. But to call ritual crap is to tread heavily on many toes (of many traditions) that do rather more ancient and beneficent ritual.

I hope your Samhain is joyful and healing.

Cheers,

RC

Dear Rc,
Good!! Samhain has been copied and made up by New Agers. By the looks of you above your name, your eyes look cockeyed, which usually means brainwashed

Hi,

I know you wish I were brainwahsed. Gladly it is not the case. Too bad you are unable to accept good wishes from me. I say again, I hope your Samhain is healing. If you do not observe Samhain then I hope you have some other healing time to celebrate.

Cheers (Trick Karma or Treat Karma)

dear prosperity,

A good point almost. However brain washed people can have that cockeye you speak loosely of. But they almost invariably have a downward leaning cockeye that gives itself away.

RC's avatar however, has clearly an upward gazing cockeye. Huge difference. Plus he does seem to exhibits signs here and there of independent thought. I can't buy into the brainwashed theory.

Michael

ponderings,

Hi,

Each of us will always accrue the Karma that is appropriate to the effects of our thoughts, feelings, actions, reactions, etc, ad nauseum.

lol

Cheers (seeing stubborness in others often being a projection, of course),

Hi,

You said: "By the looks of you above your name, your eyes look cockeyed, which usually means brainwashed"

So, you are judging someone to be brainwashed on the basis of a silly avatar? And in addition you infer that you know that you, yourself, are not brainwashed? If that is the foundation of your comment to me, then I surely must call into serious question the quality and sense of your thinking (and will likely disregard any further 'observations' you might make about me or anyone else as base inanity)

BTW, you also said: "Samhain has been copied and made up by New Agers."

So, what on earth do you actually know about Samhain?

Cheers (ignorance is one of the founding stones of bigotry),

I do not infer that I am not brainwashed as well. How do you get that? I do not know if that picture is of you or not. Is it? I can tell you are mature enough to handle it. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.
Samhain is an old ritual day to ward off evil spirits. In some places sacrifices were made by people to appease the blood needs of astral entities. When Christianity came into being, they appeased them with sweets. I do not take this holiday seriously or go out of my way to decorate yet I do partake a bit and use what I have to try to make it fun for the kids without taking them to places that are too scary especially if they dont want to go to scary places but some kids and adults do as it's titillating. I'm just warning to be careful is all.

Hi.

Hurt my feelings? I think, perhaps it is more likely you have shown your arse. And, I suggest you do some reading of scholarly, historical material on Samhain before you show any more of your christian brainwashing.

Cheers,

RC

Dear RC,
Maybe I hit upon a nerve. You can have your scholarly research. Who do you think writes all that? It's not Christian brainwashing at all. I'm Jewish on my mothers side and Native American as well. The only Christian church I have been to seriously growing up is Catholic and believe me the others haven't gotten to me. What is your religious upbringing? Maybe yu are the one with the fundamentalist upbringing but you could be right and I could be wrong. I'm also celtic on my fathers side.

ponderings,

Hi,

Believe it or not, I am not the least bit fussed about it. For better or for worse, it is just that some people such as myself, I suppose, tend to call s--t by its useful name when they smell it.

But, let us on to other things. Such as 'what is Samsara'. A much cheerier and meaty topic I am certain.

lol.

Cheers (road rage is barely more than projection of one's own lousy driving manners),

Hi Prosperity,

I have only a limited knowledge but as I understand it Samhain is an ancient and honoured pagan tradition that was actually all about the honouring of one's ancestors and giving thanks for the harvest and cycle of life. Pumpkins then of course being representative of a good harvest rather than ghouls! Again if my understanding is correct then Halloween was something that developed far later after the witch hunts that went on throughout Europe and America in the 1600's and of course is coloured by much of that.

Gentle Blessings
Helen

"Believe it or not, I am not the least bit fussed about it." Whoosh, so glad to hear this. I've finally learned to control my road rage....honest! Used to use sign language to cuss other drivers out....but you're so right....and I bless them now. Although, using the sign kinda kept people away from me! I'm hoping you'll help me out with Samsara, so I won't have to google it, kiddo!
So glad that we lighten thee up, prosperity! Have a oooh la la kind of day, sweet friend.

Dear Helen,
Witch hunts are still going on in So. & Central America. Celebration of the dead or day of the dead is a Mexican, central and south american 3,000 year old indigenous tradition eventualy combined by force with the Catholic church that tried to replace Samhain as well with all saints day / all souls day on Nov. 1st and 2nd to honor deceased ones most likely after the witch burnings as you stated. Probably all cultures honor the deceased on some level in their own way like visiting the graves etc.
If anyone wants to do ritual or meditation to send peaceful loving thoughts out as a group, at this time of the year to the deceased especially, they ought to be done in private & unpublicized, especially not over the internet, or can be subject to manipulation or grabbing of energies or frequencies and redirected by those of lower astral ritual groups.
Samhain most likely has been cleaned up a bit so as to be accepted and embraced by many. But what do I know. Take what I say with a grain of salt.
