What I feel you need is reassurance from theraputic touch. What I've learned is that people 'hold on' to stuff, and this locks up in the muscles and body, so that when whatever it is that builds to point of faffoom! gets translated in body feeling.
whatever is causing your anxiety is to be addressed seperately from massage, but the massage itself will ease the symptoms of anxiety, without alleviating what causes the anxiety in the first place. If however you realise this, then massage, though not a cure of the anxiety, is certainly a good way to become relaxed and realese the pressure of the anxiety symptoms. When a person is more relaxed, then other issues may then be addressed, otherwise the person will be distracted by the symptoms and the whatever it is won't be addressed.
You should go for the massage, but to work on the reasons for the anxiety on the second go around otherwise...
touch is a powerful healer; regardless if it doesn't cure, it can sure make a person feel good.
As for me, I've decided to confront my own issues. I've just started to see a psychotheripist who deals in massage as well in the therepy if it arises needful. Its early days yet, and maybe the partnership won't hold up, but I realise this and just hope. I've learned from 'doing' the reiki not to hold out for any attachments, so as a rule of thumb, I'm going to let that be my guide. See what comes.
hope this helps.
