EFT - Emotional Freedom Technique

Hello Everyone,

Namaste...

I was wondering if anyone has used this technique called EFT and/or what thoughts/experiences you may have had with it.

I didn't know if it was just a way to become more present in the now, thus defusing emotional issues, or if the whole concept of tapping the meridian points stimulating energy flow had real relevance.

I'm happy to hear from you...

:-)))))

Have a nice day,
Mammabear

Hi there, my reiki mentor uses it all the time and she teaches new students it when she attunes them to Reiki. My own experience with it is: as long as I'm tapping, my problem (compulsive eating) is under control. But when i forget to do the tapping, it's out of control. I suppose it just works differently for everyone.

Fushella,

My guess is that you have not yet tapped on the core issue behind the compulsion. It is probably deeply hidden.

Mamabear,

I have been using and teaching EFT (also known as TFT) for nine years. My youngest son uses it every day to prevent PTSD. He is on his third tour.........held captive by the stop loss law. My husband and I have taught it to his children of whom we have guardianship. They girls had been diagnosed with Reactive Attachment Disorder and ADHD. Both girls now tap on their own even though during big stress events they need a coach. The youngest starts kdg. She asked me to teach her teacher how to tap and how to know when she needs to tap. To the teacher's credit she is willing. I think it was because the EFT tapping I had her do was very sucessful.

On a personal note, I have found it to add greatly to the healing effects of Reiki. Things move much more rapidly. Ivan, my beloved, has used it to stop a heart attack! and to eliminate pain from old physical injuries. I have tapped on aspects of neonatal life and birth truama and much more. I found it very fasinating that when I tapped on: my mother's health during her pregnancy, my father's health at my conception, and the drugs my mother was given during my birth.........my eyes changed from very dark brown to almost green. Actually the right eye is very green!

Effects seem to be long lasting. Issues that are recuring need frequent tapping. Works on physical and emotional stuff.

Hope this helps.

I once went to a therapist who got me tapping. It didn't work so much, cause i didn't make it work. I suppose.

Maybe I just wasn't in the right frame of being to utilise the technique.

Blackearth,

Namaste...

That's quite a testimonial. Amazing...

:-)))))

I've watched some of the cases on DVD with the package to learn the technique from Craig's site, but you just don't know if it's long lasting or just a "placebo" type result.

I have not found any teachers in my area nor practitioners, yet...but I used to say that about Reiki.

bagl

My hubby saw this on some TV show for weight loss, I think. I glanced at it but didn't pay it much mind as I was knee deep in Tolle's book, "A New Earth" at the time and any additional brain activity would have fried me.

bagl

Then a friend of mine who had been on a c-pap machine (sleep apnea) for years, had a session and has been having unbelievably restful sleeps, not needing the maching constantly as he did before.

Then...LOL...it came up again at a seminar I took in Boston. So I figured maybe Spirit was trying to tell me something, so I took a look at it but am still wavering about whether I want to study it or not. REiki keeps my hands full enough.

:-)

What's that old saying..."Jane of all trades, master at none."

:-)

Thanks again for sharing your story...
Blessings to you and yours,
Mammabear

I have found it to speed the effects of Reiki. The body's cells store all our experiences with an energetic memory as well as a biochemical memory. Tapping removes the energetic vibration of: pain, fear, rejection, guilt.etc. Reiki fills the void created with a healthy vibration. Together they are way more powerful(at least in my experience).

I don't think there is realy much study needed to learn EFT. Any sore energy point can be incorporated in the tapping, sometimes there is a need to be specific on what issue/illness is being tapped on but most times you can just say "whatever is causing". Like any other enrgy work, the person needs to be hydrated so drink water before during and after. Water carries the energy from cell to cell.

Jaguar,

May guess is that you did not tap on the core aspect of whatever you were working on.

Ex: A young mother straps her infant into a car seat. During the drive there is an accident. The woman is now phobic about putting her child in a vehicle. She herself is not afraid to drive. The fear is about the child being in the car. The woman taps on: seeing the accident about to happen, fear of getting hurt, fear of child getting hurt, sound of the cars colliding. The woman remains phobic. The woman recalls not hearing the infant cry and fearing the child is dead. Woman taps on not hearing and fearing the child's death. Phobia disappears.

There are always many aspects to issues and illnesses. Persistence is important. Does not matter whether you believe or not if you are tapping on the right aspect which has created your condition, it will work. I tapped on my vision for 6 months before my eye exam. My perscription is now what is was 40 years ago. No stigmatism and only mildly nearsighted. Oh, and my eyes have turned from very dark brown to green. :)

I've read only good things concerning our soliders returning from battle using this. When nothing else gave them any relief. Good words, blackearth, as always. I love our teachers on this site. Is Firekeeper on vacation???

Meaning, perhaps, mamabear, that you're meant to be the one that folks come to for learning this??? I believe we use all the tools that we're given. Thanks for such an interesting & learning thread.

I've been going to a physical therapist for my back and the like. I find though that after he's worked on me, I'm a bit loopy for a couple of hours after, and I think some people may have noticed a change in my behaviour or patterns.

whether thats good or no, thats anyones guess.

Ponderings.

I don't mind asking.
Deep tissue for my upper back. and hoo boy do I feel I need it. Having said that, I find that now he can only do so much. I have to do some work on myself.

I got the impression the other day, that I may have stepped on his corns so maybe the sessions will stop.

I'll talk to him the next day and see.
