hi all I reently started a new job givig guided tours on lobster/criuse boats off the coast of Southern Maine. I just wanted to share an experience I had the other day. One of the tours got very rough the waves swelled pretty high.(high enough for the water to reach the wheel house)!! The boat was rocking from side to side and going down like in a big rolller coaster dips. I have to say that there were many types of reactions some fear and dread and others were exhilerated. I wanted to point out was that I felt rather humbled by the power of the ocean. That what ever we perceive as large or important becomes rather small compared to the power the sea holds. Somewhere we have some of the same power within us. Just an image for those of you who are not by the seaside. Reiki blessings Beth

Hi Beth,
Namaste,
Great job, huh? To be out there on the water every day!!
I want to change the subject just slightly, however.
I have been hearing, as most of you probably have also about all the shark attacks that are going on, mostly in Florida right now, also recently closing down a beach.
I personally don't remember this many reports in the past, and I do know the earth energies are changing. Has anyone read anything about this someplace that gives an explaination? Someone told me recently that sharks are not being fished for as much as in the past and they are multiplying and becoming more agressive looking for food.
Makes you wonder what these people are thinking when they go out surfing or swimming, with signs all over the place.
Blessings,
Priestess

Namaste Beth,
Appreciated your sharing the incredible ocean experience. Ever since reading about it , the ocean is constantly on my mind-- Are there any positions available to give guided tours on the lobster, cruise boats? The awesome power of the Ocean is absolute, without and within. If you can send some Ocean Energy this way on once of the cruises...
Reiki Blessings on your cruises,
Earhsmist

Dear Priestess,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
I just wanted to add something to what you said re. the attacs and why humans seem to ignore warnings etc.
Yes, it's difficult to understand why. And it all boils down to that humans all over the world still beleive that we have the right to invade anywhere, anytime in disregard of other species. We see it in bear-country here in Canada as well. If a human is hurt, of course the blame is on the bear. The wolf is the target in northern Europe. Will humans ever learn!?
Oh, by the way, Priestess, I saw your post on the previous page and left a reply.
Namaste,
Freya

The reason it seems like there are so many more shark attacks is because of the news media making such a big deal about them. The sharks are only looking for food by following the schools of fish that are coming in. The majority of the sharks are 2 to 5 feet in length. When they realize their prey is larger that they are, they quickly let go. Just as in any sport, there are dangers.
Sensationalism sells papers.

Yes there are jobs here in the summer -fall for guides on the boats. We have a lobster boat and a real lobster man and I explain about the lobstering industry and the Maine coast, and little tidbits about ther history of the area. The lighthouse tour goes to the local lighthouse and is more of a pleasure cruise. I have two facts that you may want to ponder, I have been thinking about them for the past few days. Lobster are able to regenerate a new claw in 3-5 years. If they should get in a fight with another creature they can just let go of the claw and and other will grow back. What an interesting idea! Lobsters are pretty protected here (well at least some of them!)Females who have been seen with eggs on them must be given a v notch on their flipper. This notch will protect her for life. If she is caught she must be thrown back!! Lobster motherhood is valued more than human motherhood! Sending you lots of ocean energy. It has been pretty choppy out there but the air is so clean. Namaste Beth,
Thanks for the tour and lobster information. I do not eat lobster, but I have seen them in tanks at the local supemarkets and I always feel sympathetic for them. Like the groups that buy them up and ship them back to be set free in the ocean waters. For those who do eat lobster, one group recommends to make their surmise a bit more tolerable, is to put them in the freezer for a short period--it is supposed to numb them to the experience ( kind of like anesthesia of sorts) of their surmise, which I cant imagine. I cannot remember where I saw this information--perhaps a search can help.
How far into the fall do the tour boats travel the Oceanwaters.
Thoroughly enjoying the ocean energy. Ive been picking it up and just saw your post--
Reiki Blessings,
Earthsmist
