Are you experienced?
I must say I am. Be for warned that this is unlike any posting that I should ever write. Something about the Jimi Hendrix experiene has this effect on me, that just makes me this way. So bear with me...
I recently bought some new CDs, old stuff form the 70s. I bought the Jimi Hendrix CD, "Are You Experienced?". Since I have always been a Hendrix fan it was quite a treat yet, something unexpected occurred as I listened to his music. I found that I had gotten a little more than I had bargained for! With this reiki stuff--that is, giving myself daily reiki treatments, I find that I have heightened my sensitivity and my intuitive sense. I find that I pick up on people's vibes and things a lot more these days. I also find that I am acting on my intuition more too. That being the case, when listening to the Hendrix CD, I noticed that the tunes that he probably composed while under the influence of mind altering drugs was really "way out" and I find that this aspect of Hendrix music really affects me when I listen to it. Hendrix was a person who was able to tap into another dimension with his creativity and articulate it musically. I consider Hendrix to be an "inter-dimensional" being because of this. This awareness came to me as I sat and listened to his music, and I got really "spacey" analyzing it. It is almost as though I had been indulging in mind altering substances!
So, is true creativity an interdimensional expereince?
As I listened to Jimi's music, I picked up a lot on the "mind expanding" dimensions of the music and perhaps where he was coming from, a bit. It began to have an affect on me. It was mind expanding! He was a creative genius... I now better understand why Jimi Hendrix gave such crazy interviews-- not simply because he was a 'right brain' dominant individual as most creative people are ( I, incidentally, am right brained dominant too), but because he was on "another level" and so in tune with another dimension--baby! Yes, indeed, he crossed over the "Rainbow Bridge!" and If I don't watch it, I too may wind up crossing over that bridge, but perhaps with not such brilliant results as Hendrix!
So, for those, such as myself, listening to Hendrix can be very conducive to meditation but you have to be careful and responsible that your mind is very disciplined for the music is indeed, "mind expanding" and so it is what you choose to do with that expansion that will benefit your life. In my case, I want to be more creative and better at making more money amongst other things! If not with a focus in mind, otherwise what is the point? If your mind truly were to expand you might run into other risks.
Hendrix. He was like others who have such a short lives on earth in which to complete a mission such as Jesus Christ, MLK, JFK, or RFK, etc. I too believe that was the case with Hendrix. In his case, at a minimum. he left a legacy of good music, but at the most (at infinity?!) he left a mind expanding medium through which we have a lot to gain! Without the drugs!
Take that one and meditate on it!
