Today I attended a dedication for a new veterans memorial, quite possibly one of a kind in the US, near where I live. Our state park has donated land so that trees can be planted in honor of a veteran who has crossed over. The president of the Allied Veterans made a statement that will stay with me for a long time. He said, "How fitting that those who's breath was given to save our freedom should be honored by a living tree who's breath continues to give us life." I think it is important that we remember those who have already given a large "price" for our freedom, and with all the recent events... many more will follow. Perhaps we should be planting some "peace lillies" along side these trees... breathing peace to make us truly free.

Dear Mammabear,
How beautiful. Many sacrifices line the paths of freedom that we walk. Perhaps we have take our freedoms for granted. I hope we never forget the sacrifice of those who died to give us better lives.

Mammabear,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
yes, I can think of no more fitting tribute to one who aided life in some way than a living tree as a memorial -
