The Reiki Cafe 

I thought I had seen almost all books etc available on Reiki but today I saw a set of Reiki Cards - apparently you can use them for layouts to 'access' reiki energy and to answer all your life questions. I am curious to know if anyone else has come across these - unfortunately the packet was sealed so I couldnt sneak a peek!

I saw the cards some time back. Seemed a little silly to me...but everyone has their own thing.

You really don't need to spend money on cards to access reiki energy!

No set of cards answers ALL your life questions!

Upon a search at Yahoo, were a couple of sites listing the Reiki cards, but did not say much about them , except that they are to assist in getting in touch with one's more intuitive nature. . The Reiki Cards I read about were prepared by a Reiki Master , PhD. Angel card readings have been very insightful . If the Reiki cards are similar to how the Angel cards work, which I found very helpful in their own way, it sounds like there may be some wonderful insights awaiting. If these making of these cards were in some way directed by Reiki, as I presume they most likely were, I would be interested in hearing more about them if you decide to check them out. Personally I enjoy the experience of a variety of healing tools , which share and contribute insights in their own way ,about life's journey.

When I did Reiki Workshops we had access to different card sets. I think it is interesting to read different perspectives. I use them in my own workshops. The ones I use help people learn about different spiritual perspectives and access the wisdom within them. I think this is very important. The Reiki Master cannot know all things and there is so much wisdom out there from so many different people - why not use it!

My favorite is the Osho Neo Tarot (now called the Osho Transformation Tarot). Osho has taken many of the most wise stories from the different traditions and combined it in a tarot deck. I also have The Angel Blessing Cards, The Crystal Ally Cards and The Medicine Cards. I know one Reiki Master who made her own deck for students. They have just one word on them for the person to meditate on.

I would be really interested to hear about these cards and the contents of them.

The thing that 'worried' me about these cards was the implication that you could access and therefore receive and then give reiki to others by using these cards. I have used other types of cards including a wonderful Enlightenment Pack which has been very accurate, but didnt like the sound of someone marketing a product claiming to allow you to use reiki without an attunement. As I say, I wasnt able to open the pack and I would not spend the money being charged just to satisfy my curiosity!

My Crystal Cards can be used in place of physical crystals. I know they work because I have used them to reduce pain on myself (despite serious sceptism that this would work). It is possible that these cards could work. Sometimes I think there are as many paths to Reiki as there are people. They may be a great introduction for someone to Reiki. I believe what ever helps people to move past their resistance to the unknown is a good thing. Look at how many lies were told in the Reiki story to bring it to the West.

I would like to think that these cards would benefit someone but I was taught that you couldnt give a reiki treatment without having been attuned to reiki energy - I cannot think of any of the threads of reiki out there that are not based on being attuned - maybe I am wrong on that one. I totally respect other forms of reiki - reiki is reiki is reiki - but this seems to be sidestepping the basis of reiki. I agree that the 'story' of reiki has been adapted over time but I am sure that fact that people had to be attuned before giving reiki has not changed - unless we are all wrong on that one :) I think that the cards could be a wonderful tool but think it should state somewhere on the box that one cannot practice reiki without first being attuned by a Reiki Master so that people would be clear about what they were buying. Someone might spend a considerable amount of money on them believing that if they purchase them, they will then be able to give reiki treatments using them. Then they could indeed be a great introduction to reiki.

Hi!

I have friends who do 'Spiritual Healing'. They have never been attuned to Reiki. In one instance I walked into a room with a virus and walked out without it after a healing with a Spiritual Healer. Also in Kinergetics we clear people's attitudes to allow them to channel healing energy. It certainly works.

It really depends on how you define "Reiki".

As a Master I have certainly found that Reiki attunements provide specific healing that nothing else can achieve (that is for the person being attuned). I certainly would encourage people, in all instances, to have the attunements. I also know that you cannot control people and what they wish to do.

This will also give you a good idea from what perspective I am coming from. I found it very empowering for myself after all the confusing things I have been told about Reiki.

I am not sure which cards you are referring to but I have a set of Archetypal Reiki and do really like them. These might be different, however, since they say nothing about them givng you access to the energy.

I use them occasionally just to get a feel for the area I or a client might need to have brought up. It doesn't take the place of intuition, it just adds another tool.

I think these are the same cards - I had to buy them in the end because my curiosity was driving me nuts! On the back of the box containing the cards and a book it states that the book explains the principles of Reiki healing and sets out guidelines for using the cards, including: 10 ways to lay out the ards to access Reiki energy.

Interestingly, inside the book the author includes a Caveat satying that the cards are not a substitute for traditional Reiki attunements or Reiki energy healing and that the Reiki symbols included in the cards (by name only) will not work unless one has been attuned.

They are lovely cards, and I will no doubt enjoy using them. My original concern was that the packaging gave the impression that you could access Reiki energy by using the cards and did not explain about attunements. As the box is sealed you would not know about her Caveat until you had already purchased the item and I felt that was misleading.

Isn't it interesting what we don't see. I think I was meant to use these cards, so that just did not even register with me. I'm glad it works that way.

I know, I am not sure why that jumped out at me - I have a real 'thing' I guess about being upfront about Reiki and it just seemed a little sneaky to me.
Never mind, it has meant that we both have a set of cards and I would like very much to chat to you about them. When I used them yesterday they were so accurate I put them back in the pack, not ready to deal with what they were saying (smile) but having thoroughly shuffled the entire pack I drew the exact same two cards again - a message there I think!

I will email you as I start using them more.
