Namaste all you good people,

KARMA...oh boy, biggy.

The question/point...My understandings/knowledge is still at infancy, and the basic level. So to try to wrap mind around Karma is a bit, lets say, puzzling for now.

My understanding is there is individual karma, family karma, gender, race/religion, nations', and the human family.

Ok, this is were it gets tough for me. I am ok till I get to nations'. There is much that has gone on in history before my time, and before before my time. Case in point, in North America there has been the Native American and what was done there, there is slavery and what was done there, and Japanese Camps, etc. etc. What kind of karma is that, and what is it, and what do we do with it/about it, and alot more questions that I am not equipped at this time to try to state (so feel free to add them in)? I am finding it difficult to even try to state what it is I am questioning, but there are just a lot of ??? hang around this.

Any thoughts, views, opinions are all wecleme...and most importantly, more questions.

Blessings to you all, in this and all previous and all future
Dina

What about the idea of showing the rest of the world that it is possible for people of different enthnic/ racial and gender backgrounds can live together, for the most part, without killing each other...considering what is going on overseas and what has gone on in other countries for millenia ( Bosnia, SOuth Africa, Women in many countries such as the Middle East and Asia, etc.), Yes, it took us a ways to get here, but we ain't doin'so bad. Yes we have a ways to go, but...

Namaste Aim,

I quite agree, that we can (afford to) show the rest of the world, but that does not make us better, just in a better position to share. I gave north american, which includes USA and Canada, as an example, as our history is the one I know best, but it could easily apply to anywhere else, like Hitler, South Africa, and too many of which I know not enough to speak of. Human nature is the same where you find it. What I was looking for is some views on what do these events in history mean for us, and the generations to come, how do we best deal with it? Anything, just some thoughts as this issue of karma is too great a thought for me to comprehend at this time. I don't believe that there is any insult in this, and if you found one, it is not intentional.

As to the Middle East, and that too I know, the misconception is that women are belittled, degraded, or at best lesser citizens. I can tell you that a big part of my family is there, and that would be the farthest from the truth. My grandmother, who passed away 2yrs ago, at the young age of 92, had her university degree in teaching and child psychology, at a time when many men did not have a degree...in many countries. That was due the foresight of her mother's, and she made it so. My great Grandfather was a very recognized man of religion, he inspected and approved the Quran reprints, to make certain of exactness and authenticity, and he allowed.

What you refer to regarding women is in most cases cultural and ignorance. By ignorance, I mean lack of education. But this is not the norm, as women in most countries are looked at as the educators of society, and the generations to come.

I quite agree we are not doing bad. Just look at us here, discussing, debatin, and sharing with great joy and pleasure at the thought of learning something new. I also agree we have a ways to go...and I do believe we will get there.

Blessings to us all, on our journey,
