Namaste Mike, And all you Good People,
Mike,
Since your posting for healing, my thoughts have come again and again to you, hoping that you are in a better place, or at least with a lighter load. I know that we have not had the opprotunity to exchange any posts, so, I find it interesting that you come to my mind as often as you have. In Vancouver, B.C. Canada, there is a magazine called Common Ground, which is one of a few that I love to read. This past month, they had a section called "Elders Speak Out for Peace", and I wanted to share these quotes. I am certain that you know most of them, if not all. It is often helpful to be reminded of what one knows, already.
So, here are a few of them, for all of us...To us all,... in Peace.
-If you and I are having a single thought of violence or hatred against anyone in the world at this moment, we are contributing to the wounding of the world.--Deepak Chopra
-It is the job of thinking people, not to be on the side of the executioners.--Albert Camus
-We are convinced that non-violence is more powerful than violence...if you use violence, you have to sell part of yourself for that violence. Then you are no longer a master of your own struggle.--Cesar Chavez
-War is an invention of the human mind. The human mind can invent peace with justice.--Norman Cousins
-Nothing is so strong as gentleness; nothing so gentle as real strength.--St. Francis de Sales
-Much violence is based on the illusion that life is a property to be defended and not to be shared.--Henri Nouwn
-You can no more win a war than win an earthqauke.--Jeanette Rankin
-Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.--Mathew 5:3
-Peace is not a relationship of nations. It is a condition of mind brought about by a serenity of soul. Peace is not merely an absence of war. It is also a state of mind. Lasting peace can come only to peaceful people.--Jawaharlal Nehru
-There are many in the world who are dying for a peace of bread but there are many more dying for a piece of love.--Mother Teresa
-Better than thousand hollow words, is one word that brings peace.--Buddha
-When will our consciences grow so tender that we will act to prevent human misery rather than avenge it?--Eleanor Roosevelt
-There never was a good war or a bad peace.--Benjamin Franklin
-If you want to make peace, you don't talk to your friends. You talk to your enemies.--Moshe Dayan
-Imagine.Give peace a chance.--John Lennon
Those are a few...hope you all find them helpful, as I have.
Blessings to you all, in these times, and all others as well,
Dina
