A marvelous quote for the day:

"A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something seperated from the rest- a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."

hmmmmmmmmmmmm

if the big E. would support the idea of learning outside the envelope, then he would maintain the envelope to be not-Einstein ... and Samsara-duality would steal the throne, causing Oneness to lock HerS-selves-ELF in the bathroom:

or not

Beau,

/*\ Namaste :-}}

- duality??

>:-}} a myth - or a figment of the two-hemisphered brain

- Einstein might claim: so there is Einstein and Not Einstein??-

- but Who is it that is asking the question and observing E and Not E??

- as a Teacher once mused: the opposite of Anything is Not -

- not a duality at all - since Not contains all that is Other than the Thing in question

Ah

i did myth the point

we could have an extensive nondual discussion but for

language itself is dual
and in this type of dualing, the white and black chess pieces would be the same

[that is unless Einstein stopped stretching the envelope and threw them in all pell-mell ~ a habit of nondualists]

blessings peter and terry

it is wonderful to be communicating

sometimes silence heals
sometimes it just hurts

but as 2 Corninthians says; 'We are dying ever, dying over to a new beingness: being emptied

~ and in that receive fullness upon fullness upon fullness: this day my fullness is joy

thanks great teachers

gassho~

I will always wonder

a] if the a Teacher quoted is one
b] if the a Teacher oft quoted is Peter
c] if the a Teacher quoted is many

if dualism be a myth

then

a

b

c

are all correct

Beau,

/*\ Namaste :-}}

- wasn't there a song some years ago - the theme song of Interpreters? I believe??

- Dueling Lingoes??

- but before I go look for a cordless phone where the handset has caller ID so my "language" is not tied to the same spot as my backside, I will suggest that language, in its universality, cannot be dual -

- given the quantity and quality of what gets lost in translation(s)

- I mean who or what is messing with what we say in between one speaker and the others -

Take care.

Dear Firekeeper,

but that was simply a question.....
I am of the opinion that one IS.
Perceptions may differ, but if one has perception than one must "BE".

Dear Beau,

I did not realize this was a contest...LOL...but Im NOT all that competitive, except in good fun. Always up for an impish perception. Too much seriousness makes for a dull world. Can you imagine all these human beings milling around with swelled brains..sorta like aliens...pulsatile masses of important information with lights & bells & whistles signaling their enormous intelligence...and there I am dancing around their feet, pulling at their cloaks like a court jester.
But there is never any disrespect meant.
The ability to laugh...to see the silliness in our lives is a connection to our imperfection, a recognition of our incompleteness. The irony is that if one recognizes imperfection, then one knows perfection as well.
To laugh is to be human. I dont doubt that the superhuman laugh as well.
Dont ask where this came from Beau, I havent a clue..just rolled right out...HaHa
Have missed you as well, fellow sniper!!

a gentle quarrel

I try to get rid of perceptions as soon as I get them. Empty, empty, empty, so many judgments, so many notions, such clinging ... for two days now I have had the experience not of perceiving ~

Thanks honey, I was looking for that. The man had a lot of relevant things to say, most people don't see past his relative things to find them. :-)))
