Good evening all!
I am interested in discovering what different types of music everyone uses while they are giving Reiki, if any at all.

Hello Ebony,
I have given sessions with and without music, and I find I can now get extreme energy flowing after the symbols are given when I have Pachelbel. I meditate tto that music, so my conscience responds to it immediatly. I do, however try and let my client choose what is soothing to them and one very popular style is the Sounds of Nature. I highly recommend The Elegance of Pachelbel. Hope this helps,
Love and good healing

Hello Ebony,
Native American flute music is relaxing to many. I personally love Reiki, Hands of Light by Deuter..the label is New Earth Records. It was composed to complement Reiki.

My personal Favourite is "The Silent Path" by Robert Haig Coxon. I also have two others that I use frequently..
"Reiki-Music for healing through Touch" by Kamal;
and of course my first to own was "Reiki Hands of Light" By Deuter...I needed the little chimes every three minutes to remind me to move hands; although I don't time hand positions any longer, and I feel a lot of times 3 minutes isn't enough, the music is still wonderful!
Looking forward to hearing others choices....

Thank you, that does make sense. So, it would be better to have a wide variety of music in my collection to allow people to choose from.

Jasanine,
If you go to Amazon.com on the internet...you can see reviews by customers & can hear sample tracks of the CD ( Reiki: Hands of Light by Deuter).
My friend purchased the CD at a nature store in a shopping mall.
Hope this helps....

Namaste Jasanine!
Not to butt in, but.... In my copy of Hands of Light by Deuter is a leaflet which lists: New Age Records, which happens to have a web address listed. Try:
If this isn't a live link, let me know I also have their mailing address and phone number in Boulder CO.

Hello Jasanine,
Isn't that funny? I will have to look into that cd - after all, it has my name on it! LOL. Thank you to everyone for there input on background music. It has been most helpful. I find Deuter to be very relaxing.

Hi Ebony,
Personally, i like either the hypnotic drones of a didgeridoo, or just recently an amazing CD i tracked down - Authentic Natural Sounds' "Relax With Nature - Tibetan Monastery". Wow, those monks really know how to relax! LOL. :)
While we're on the subject of Reiki, do you or does anyone else use incense while treating? What 'flavors' do you prefer?
Green flavor gives me headache! :) hehe. Seriously though, i'm into Coconut or Lemongrass at the moment.
Regards
Graham.

Hello Graham,
Interesting. I would have never thought of a didgeridoo, but it does make sense.
As for your question about incense, I have never used it before. If I was too, I would have a variety, (once that don't give you a headache!) and allow the Recipient to choose what their favorite was. As for me, personally, I would choose Vanilla. It is just a pure sent to me.
Thank you for your imput!
Peace and good healings

Graham,
Sometimes incense has been used when I have been Reiking but I often find it too strong & offensive to sensitive people, those with allergies or asthma since it produces smoke. I prefer to burn natural oils (aromatherapy)..you can control the strength of the fragrance with the # of drops you place into the container & it does not produce smoke that can irritate the respiratory tract. There are numerous oils available now & the possible combinations are endless. The best part is that you can choose an oil with a response in mind ( soothing, energizing, cleansing, etc). Combine Reiki with aromatherapy & music and you get...HEAVEN!!!!

Holobon,
It's a coincidence you should mention aromatherapy oils, as i've just been introduced to the delights of Clarisage oil :)
I hear Clarisage can aid meditation or channeling, as well as stimulating the mind in general and helping to lift feelings of depression and anxiety. I expect you know about it's hallucinatory and migraine-inducing effects when mixed with alcohol - something i intend to take every precaution not to do!
Sometimes i use a tiny amount of rose oil on my hands when treating the face area, just to give a pleasant relaxing smell, especially with first time clients when touching the face can be a little unnerving.
Take care
Graham

Graham,
I have been using rose water to help gently bring someone back (ground) at the end of a treatment. I know that for me personally it is grounding, but very gentle.
I also have found a CD that is very popular in this area of the world - "Reiki: the Light Touch" by Merlin's Magic. I found it on amazon.com and I am very glad I got it. It is one of the best I have found for Reiki. I have to keep a special eye on it when I take it somewhere to use otherwise it finds a new home. My son said it reminded him of Reiki the first time he heard it even tho he didn't know the name of the CD.
Love and light
Carolyn
