Periodically a passage comes my way that is so powerful and so meaningful that it makes me want to stop and apply it to my life. Early in my studies I was told by my RM a saying that she used many times in dealing with people in every type of everyday relationship. I have found that it is most benificial when dealing with difficult people to stop, think of it, and proceed.
That saying is:
"When you love me the least is when I need you to love me the most......"
I used to be a very fast reacter, quite a mouth-piece, BR (before reiki) and usually when someone would attack me, I verbally let them have it.
This saying has saved many tongue thrashings!!
Does anyone have any words of wisdom they would like to share??
Love to all......Jasanine

Hello Jasanine,
I have actually heard that saying before and I think it is a wonderful way of dealing with situations. It reminds me of another saying which is:
"When dealing with yourself, think with your head. When dealing with others, think with your heart."
Emotions are precious, fragile things. We all have them and no one wants them to break. After all they are pretty hard to replace.
I am interested to hear what other people use for their inspirational sayings.
Peace and good healings

Hei Jasanine,
I have a good one, but have problems with applying it - good one as I can see that any time I stick to it - things work out much better than when I try to dictate my will to other people (I am good at that ;-( )
The following is a sort of version of the saying as the original writing was chinese (Lao'c) interpreted by a british psychologist Martin Buber, and finaly cited in Carl. R. Rogers's book (The way of being), that was translated into Czech. Now I am trying to undo the last bit and put it back to English - so I hope it will make sense:
"A developed person does not interfere in the lifes of beings, does not push his/her will on them, but helps all beings to their freedom. Through own unity (onnes) he shows the way to their own unity, freeing their nature and destiny, frees the Tao inside them."
Hope you will like it -
Jana

One of my favorite inspirational sayings is "Let Go and Let God". It is very simple but says so much.

Greetings Jana
This is a GREAT saying..having read it several times to absorb it in the full, I am realizing how undeveloped I am!! (I'm a dictator too)Thank you for this tool, I am going to try to apply it.
I am trying to put together a personal collection of Words of Wisdom, so please feel free to jump in with any contributions!
Another one that allows me that "moment of Processing", that moment where you have to decide if you are going to take on anothers issues through conversation.I say it all the time to help me take a step back and not get involved......"If it's not my suitcase, I'm not carrying it!" It gives you that focal moment to realize that the situation really has nothing to do with you, unless, of course, you pick up the suitcase. That one really helps me to not involve myself...a tough practise for a dictator!!
Keep 'em comin'

I have been 'searching' how I feel about this for some time ....it is difficult not to push my will on to people when I am helping them (as I feel the right to do so)- but because my heart is telling me it is my duty to help them, there must be a third way - helping silently, by listening and letting them by finding a good listener listen to them selves speaking ....and in that way they get the feeling they are universaly accepted and can them selves organise their thoughts better. I have problems explaining this - it is well described in the 'Client centered therapy' books and thoughts produced by C.R.Rogers - a psychologist who is to my knowledge one of the few who successfully married psychology and "our world" and made the feeling of onennes and self acceptanceit accessible to the 'Muggles';-)) as well as us. If the things above are muddled - they in short mean: "Your heart will tell you the way."
Love
Jana

Good day, Holobon and Greetings all,
I have a rather appropriate WOW for this Monday morning:
All motivation is self motivation.
Your family, your boss or your co-workers
can try to get your engine going, but until you decide
what to accomplish, nothing will happen.

Dear Holobon
You brought a tear to my eye!!
When my mother passed away, I went to say my goodbyes, and there before me was a face I had seen a million times.
But, never, until that moment, did I see a beauty so deep it took my breath away. The beauty in those wrinkles told a lifes story, and as painful as that moment was, I will treasure it always.
Thanks for sharing....you brought a tear to my eye, but you also made my heart smile :):):)))
And its good to know I am gaining more respect each passing year!!
Love and light.......Jasanine

Dear Jasanine,
Words have power to sweep us to an honored place in our hearts...What a blessing to have had such an experience with your Mom....once, years ago, I looked at my mother's hand, all wrinkled & chapped with unpainted fingernails and no adornment other than a simple engagement ring & wedding band & was struck with the thought that there was no more beautiful hand in the world...There is something about the older folk that fills one's heart.
I have always been fascinated by the character that evolves over time in a human face. Many cultures revere the aged & look to them for wisdom & guidance. Our culture which honors youth has much to learn.....
peace, love & joy,
