The Reiki Cafe 

Hi Everyone
This is a very important topic to me as its been a struggle ever since i have been introduced to energy healing..My master/teacher was often depleted after healings..she would take a few weeks off then return her work..And this is an incredibly gifted lady..she took me thru training that included all aspects of yoga..asanas, meditation and service..10 months in an ashram called yogaville in VA..grounding was taught in many sessions of intent and visualization..what is the answer.do we all act as shamins and receive some of the negative energy being released..are we the wounded healers that when our clients are opened up they open up our unhealed wounds..or is it because we want the receiving person to be healed and give up our own energies to help this unselfish intent but may be our ego ..when we are only supposed to be channels for divine light..thank you.. i will appreciate hearing your answers.

I am glad for your voice and light.

To pass one's own energy during a reiki session or other such work where use of universal life force is the practice means we are being depleted - which makes us more vulnerable (to all sorts of influences).

It also means we are not being very Mindful of our Intent - which is to act as the conduit for the energy - based on the needs of the recipient - it is the recipient thru their Intent to accept the energy who, for the most part, determines the "amount" of energy that flows.

If we try to control the amount of energy we intrude our energy into the process - this is undesireable.
