Hi everyone

I've been thinking for a while about the nicknames we use on the boards.

Lumpflink is a pet name my husband gave me when we first got together :-}}}

How did you choose yours?

Eleanor

Namaste Eleanor!
My Goddaughter's name is Elizabeth. When little she pronounced it Zizabeth, which I shortened to Ziz. When first getting online, Ziz and Zizz were taken, I accidently hit the R key...and I have been zizzr ever since.....
Good question, thanks for asking!

hi lumpflink and zizza
T2 is short for the way I signed my name when I sold insurance. I signed the policies with my real name but one of the secretary's couldn't read my name so she called me T2. I thought it was cute (as was she) so I kept the nick name.

Sorry about spelling your name wrong in the below post... I thought I was so smart being able to type it without looking at the keys.

What a great question!

Jasanine (pronounced jasaneen) was an imaginary friend to my daughter when she was three. "Jasanine" brought such spirit and confidence to her that I thought, even then, that Jasanine must be a spirit guide.
My given name is Gloria, on my profile it says Lori. That is because I am alot shorter than my husband, and he took a letter off the beginning, one off the end to make my name as short as me. Lori is the 'love' name from my beloved!

Love and light.....from any one of my three identities!

Hi Lumpflink (I love that name, btw :))
My name of eaglestar was given to me by RM during a meditation session when she and others in the room were receiving messges from guides and angels etc. It came to me with an eagle feather, and a medicine bear. She was told to tell me it was my shamanic name.

Namaste Eleanor,

I too have often wondered about the names everyone has chosen to use :)

I chose rainbow because I have often seen beautiful colours with Reiki and all the colours of the rainbow make pure white light ( the only bit of my physics that I ever remember from school :)) and pure white light is what Reiki energy symbolises to me :)

So anyway...that's how I came up with rainbow :))

Love,light and blessings
Helen.

Namaste all,

Redheaddragon came from the fact that I have red hair (naturally) and that dragons are a big part of my life.(By the way I'm a purple dragon with red hair) (kinda goofy looking too) It was what came up when I needed a name for email and since it seemed to be 'me' I use it a lot.

Cool names here and really interesting how people got them. Thanks guys for sharing.

Carolyn

Hi everyone

This is great - makes everyone more real somehow.

One of the reasons I ask is that sometimes when I see a new name and guess if its male or female. Then I read the post and see if it 'feels' male or female. I've got it wrong sometimes - T2 - I thought you were a guy - sorry :-}}}

I hope we get more replies.

Thanks for sharing.

Sorry I was so keen to get it right at last that I made that huge mistake - I thought you were a (what's the female equivalent of a guy?) girl. Ooops.

Yes I'm a male from birth. It does bring up an interesting story though. A early grammar school teacher (3rd grade)I had told me in front of the class that my real name was a girl's name. So I brought in my birth certificate into the class room but she still insisted, in front of the class that my name was a girl's name. I finally had enough and showed her and anyone else who questioned my name that I was indeed a male.
Following my two week vacation
(inflicted on me by this incident) no one ever question my name again.
But... I must admit it does bring me harmony. In all of us there are male and female traits. To understand those traits allows us to understand ourselves and other of the opposite sex and opposing views.

Hello all,

What an interesting post - it does bring people to be more familiar. Although I am quite boring. Ebony is my name. But the way that my parents came up with it is interesting. While camping one night, they were playing around with names and started to get silly. They through out names like 'pinecone', and 'fir', and pretty much anything they saw while they were camping. Finally, while going through the list of trees, one of them said, 'ebony'. And it was that ever since :)

hi ebony

I love this. Bet you're glad they didn't choose pinecone!!

Although it would have been a good one for the board :-}}}

Hi redheaddragon

Yea I've seen your photo - lots of red hair but no dragon!

In what way are dragons a part of your life?

I'm very interesting in dragons at the moment.

Eleanor,

Dragons have always been a part of my life. I collect them and really identify with their energy. I am working with the book 'Dancing with Dragons' by DJ Conway right now but it is slow going since dragon energy is intense. I do enjoy it and have fun with it.

I think of myself as a goofy looking purple (with blue highlights) dragon that has red hair. Since I also read a lot my tattoo next to my heart is a purple dragon reading a book and has red hair. Yes it is a goofy looking dragon. Very me too. The dragon was there for 10 years before I got it done tho.

Eleanor,

Haha, perhaps that is what I should have used for my nickname! : )

Although, they could have gone further into the nature names and I could have had a really earthly name, like my cousin Heaven! :)

But maybe that's a little too out there!

Peace and good healings

My brothers gave me my real name. My parents gave them permission as long as it was within reason. My brothers wanted me named trigger and nellie belle from the Roy Rogers show. Rin tin tin was up for grabs for a while there. Fortunately my first and middle real names triumphed. Both Names are after two cartoon charactors of the day, but none the less my name was within reason so my parents agreed.
And people wonder why I'm looney tunes sometimes!
I'm just living up to my name sake!!!

Hello Eleanor,

A lot of interesting stories here.

Mine was sort of an evolution.

At one time I was a ceramics lab tech at a local college. When you have a couple of hundred kids (well mostly 18 and 19 year olds) running amok in the mud you sometimes have to get sort of 'firm' From the beginning I decided it was easier to appear tough and let them think they softened me up than it would be to have to put my foot down after letting them run free all over the lab that I had to keep clean. Anyway, they sort of gave me the nickname 'Queen Rebecca' :-)) Sometime after that a friend of mine who learned this began teasing me about being a 'Queen' to which I would respond 'I ain't no stinking Queen, I'm a Goddess. :-)) So when I needed a new name for my email I tried Goddess, it was of course taken. Since my friends first language is Spanish I tried diosa and so here I am diosa diana. :-))

Hugs one and all
Rebecca

Hi redheaddragon

I saw that dragons are a big part of your life.
I just wonder, have you read the Dragon Books
written by Anne McCaffrey?
They are great!
