cleansing/clearing stone

Hi Everyone :)

We are currently renovating our home and are putting a stone floor in the front hall entrance, hallway, and kitchen. about 400 sq ft. Since the tile is real stone I want to "clean" it before I put it in. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to go about cleansing this much stone (it's travertine, a type of limestone I think). I was thinking of laying it out in the moonlight (can't wash it or bury it), but this could be logistically difficult (ie. heavy, and does the moonlight have to touch each stone?)

your thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated!

Kathryn

Hi Kathryn,

Why not smudge them all around, have someone help lift and move them so you can get both sides. Intention and thoughts would work well with this also.

Hi Kathryn:)

It's important to remember that every thing (including our bodies- physical, emotional, mental, spiritual,) carries a vibration. Our thoughts are energy we can direct, so intent is rather important when apraoching any kind of clearing work (or any work for that matter), regardless of what tools you use. If the stone is in a pile, you could light a few white and black candles around it (black for banishing negativity and white to draw in the light). If you have access to a smudge stick, or other clearing incence, walk around the stone while it is burning and visualise the energy carried in the smoke clearing out any negativity within it. Keep in mind that it is your intent to clear this stone. See it in your minds eye saturated in light. Say a blessing like "may this stone provide beauty and support to our home" or something like it, and thank whatever spirit guides or angels you feel helped in this endeavor. It wouldn't hurt to thank the earth from which the stone came, for this gift of cool and lovely flooring.
If you are a reiki practitioner at level II, the second symbol is one that could be drawn over the stone in the air and "seen" to sink into it to clear it.
There are many more techniques that exsist, but it seems that intent and visualisation are important aspects of many of them.
Hope this helps, and good luck!

Hi. Travertine is lovely. My mother laid it throughout her home when they built it. I agree that intention is very important. When there is positivity and love and light surrounding you and your home only good can enter. Bless the stone. Bless your home. Bless yourselves. Also, take care when lifting. I helped to tote my mother's tiles during summer heat. It can be taxing.

Blessings to you,
Janet

Otoharo!

Kathryn, I can not answer your question, but I want to share an experience I had with stone. Back in the 70's I spent a week with a woman in Arisona, I haven't yet recalled the name of the city. She wanted me to look carefully at her new stone fireplace. It was stone taken f rom her own land. Then she wanted me to feel it. Well, I innocently put my hands on it. Immediately I began seeing and hearing running hoofs of all kinds, thundrous.

While reading the other messages, I wondered what you are cleaning. Stone itself hs the energy of beingness. Only the energy of men, who quarried it and then lay it can contaminate it. Be sure of what it is you are wanting not to have around. I feel from where I sit, I would surely like to walk upon beingness for the rest of my life! What an experience!

Kathryn,

/*\ Namaste :-}}

- a good smudging with some copal resin (my favorite and preference) should do the trick

- white sage would also be an excellent choice for smudging

- enjoy,

Reiki all around,

all blessings,

Hello to all who replied to this post and thank you for your wonderful insights and ideas with regard to cleansing the stone!!

I am very excited about this project. We will be spending a few days with my mom while it is being installed. The tiles are so beautiful and I instantly fell in love with them when I saw them in the showroom. I am thankful to Mother Earth for her fabulous gifts!

Blessings to you all :)
