Hi,
I was thinking of taking a course in Shamanisim and would like to know what are the best things on a course that I should be looking for.There are many on offer but unsure what I should choose. Everyone seems to offer different things.??

Hi vanillav,

It's quite difficult talking about courses relating to Shamanism. Yes, there's much to be learned from courses, but with Shamanism it's rather a search for a teacher than a course. Someone who will be there to guide you and teach you in your life journey. There is much to learn and commitment is needed to walk the path. It's not something you can do within a course although it could start you off on the track.

If it's a course you really feel you want/need to do, contact the people, ask questions, email them, read books, do whatever you have to do to gain the answer to your question. Only you will know if 'it' feels right and who you 'click' with. I'm sure the people who are running the courses can't offer everything that's why you're offered different things. If they could offer everything, it would fill up your entire life time. Look for what seems important for you to learn at this time.

If possible, I recommend starting with the Basic Workshop of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. It's located in the US, but they do do workshops in Europe (and UK) as well. I will post their URL under resources.
