I've been studying a little Gaelic and I've surprised myself that I actually could follow that exchange. ;)

- Dia dhuit

- we have been in Scotland twice and the last time went to the 100th Anniversary National Mod in Oban where they have the winners in various Gaelic categories including harping, singing (groups and alone), chanting, story telling, etc. It was fantastic though we did not understand much of any of the spoken progammes.

- my wife was in Ireland in 1999 for a retreat (Glenties and Killybegs). She also visited Donegal Town and all the while I was in Scotland doing a bit of fly fishing for salmon - fortunately everyone speaks English

I'm quiet amused, cos the dog in question was originally from Scotland and came over to Ireland once trained.

Her late owner was a big fan of the Irish language and heritage.

I know very little Irish, only abit of what I learnt in school many moons ago! Irish isn't spoken very often here now, but is wonderful to hear it, such a musical language.
I'm not terribly far from Donegal Town. You's will have to let me know if your back in my neck of the woods again soon.

Thanks for the help.

Bright Light and Blessings,
Evie. :-)

- Tráthnóna maith,

- we have plans to get back to Ireland at some point but nothing definite in the works at present. There are several practitioners in Ireland and it would certainly be special to meet you and some of the others as well if they were so inclined (you know, have a bite and a pint)

- we'll see.

- Go mbeannaigh Dia duit!
