Blessed Be to All;
Not sure if I spelled it right, but I am sure you will get the gist of it. I have a friend in Florence SC that has at least a moderate case and is in constant discomfort. As well she is battling a bi-polar condition and addiction. The addiction battle goes fairly well. With the exception of a couple slips, mostly clean and sober for 15 years.
She does not have a great financial situation at the moment due to the varied illnesses and a disability situation.
If there is a knowledgeable practioner nearby I would aprreciate any assistance that could be provide. Her condition is well beyond my limited scope of knowledge in this area.
Thank you in advance.

David,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- if you search te profiles section here I suspect you will find some practitioners in SC. Whether they are familiar with fibromyalgia I could not say. As an auto-immune disease, fibromyalgia can be a bit tricky.
- folks with multiple issues usually do best with multi-faceted treatment regimens
- Reiki can help any regimen but is no likely to be a panacea
- your friend may also request distance energy work from folks here at The Cafe.

Hi David,
My wife has suffered from fibromyalgia for about 12 years. It is a pernicious condition and can be very debilitating. The only conventional treatment is with anti-depressant drugs namely Amytrptiline, which seems to work by relaxing the muscels. However, these tend to only mask the symptoms.
As silly as it sounds, exercise is one of the better remedies. It is painfull initially, but as the muscles warm up and become less stiff, providing the exercise regime is carried out regularly, at least 3 times weekly, the condition improves.
Reiki is also very effective particularly if the person is given full body treatments daily for at least 4 consecutive days and then continued at regular intervals. You will find that the person will have quite strong muscular spasms and violent twitching during the treatment. This will decrease as the treatments progress.
I hope this helps you a little. Please feel free to email me for any more information or help.
Blessed Be,
Brian

Thanks for your suggestions. I may know many things but most of all I know when to ask for direction. Thanks for giving of your time to help.
My friend is trying to follow the prescribed medical regimen for this condition; but needs all the encouragement she can get.
If it would help, she can be contacted thru email (starrkimb@aol.com). Again, I thank you for any help direct or indirect that this group can provide.
