I had a super cough this morning that ripped up some of my lower back muscles and had to go to the emergency room. am off of work till monday and was prescribed a narcotic and a muscle relaxer.
If anyone has time I'd appreciate some Reiki as I hurt like hell.
Thanks,
Mr. Dave

Thanks, Mr. Rc. On top of being extremely sore I am also now a bit on the stressed side because with the way things have gone this week at work it's basically like having gone a whole week without working so not only do I have this new horrid bill i am responsible for. I am even shorter on money that was extremely tight to begin with because of the time I took off for my handfasting.
am trying to stay as calm and relaxed as i can to let any energy i recieve do it's thing without my obstructions.

Had lots of deep breathing and relaxing today. My wife and I were discussing how we always seem to get what we need and I think our lil talk about immensely.
And thank you as well for the well-wishing and Reiki.

Hmmm, I was told that lower back issues relate to worries over money. Gee, 90% of the population have lower back pain. Could be, rabbit!

I've heard the same thing. Diane Stein has a list in her book Essential Reiki.
I've seen instances where her list relates to a person I am working on. And times when it has absolutely no bearing.
I've seen people who have knee problems which according to Stein is a reluctance to move forward. and alot of times there has been both this reluctance and knee problems.
The next example is a lil off-color for some folks be warned. But her fix for a migraine is masturbation. But I know folks who could get themselves off all day and still have a migraine LOL.
I dunno where she got this info or if it is her original work.

Thanks miss tracey, I appreciate it.
Actually all the energy I have recieving has helped tons. Of course i'm sure the medication is doing it's work too.
But when I got up today it was not half as horrifying as I expected where as yesterday i could take the pain meds and still feel it a decent amount that i was uncomfortable. Now if i'm medicated I hardly notice it at all.
and it's helped take out alot of the stress as well. I do feel much lighter.

Hi every body,
I agree with anglehair. BTW, I did the same this last Sun. Then i woke up Mon. with pnuemoia (sp) shite you not.
So I'm suffering in this bad state prana wise Mon.-Tues. to include ceasing to breathe altogether while in deep sleep afew times. Luckily I have a strong Lower Self, but none the less the experience is scarey. I'll take a witch's ride anyday. Anyhoo, I heard this inner voice mentioning during wake times that "this is a healing and learing thing". I'm like "Put a sock in it!" (cough..wheeeeze)
But i knew it was true deep down. The energetic pain and drain of this illness finally gave me the kick in the arse to finally get in the ring with the cig addiction demon with the intention of fighting until I win.
You can catch the fight if you get ASPN (Astral Sports Network) : Michael Arati vs. Narcose Nicotine.

Michael

Dear Dave,
I could see how that would work if one's sexual energy was repressed/wrongly vented to the point of causing cranial pressure/pain.

Michael,
Hi.
Yes, pneumonia is a drainer, par excellance! Tanden and Thymus are excellent portals for some major energy work.
Arati, Arati he's our man. If he can't do it no one can!!!

Dave,
Hi.
One of the "secrets" to dealing with migraines is "restoring balance"
:)

Yeah, well, let me tell you about another kind of "balance." My migraines started 4 weeks after my 1st child was born. They continued for the next 32 years coming and going in cycles with my menstrual cycles, only abating during the 2nd and 3rd trimesters of my other two pregnancies. They didn't stop until my menstrual cycles stopped, gradually dying out over the last two years.
The only kind of balance I believe was involved in this was purely a chemical one. It is purely a matter of how my brain reacts to the rise and fall of estrogen. Believe me....I tried everything, including Firekeeper's balancing pranayama.
Now ask me if I'll take my doctor's recommendation of estrogen replacement pills to curb some of the other health risks of aging women. Not on your life!

Lionheart

lionheart,
Hi.
As I am male and have not had to deal with the menses myself I hope I am not being presumptuous (apologies if I am - remember, I just a man) ..lol.. but marriage and daughter also suggest that emotions vary some before, during, and after moontimes. And variation in emotion can stimulate other processes even if one accepts with the notion that it may be hormonal shifts that affect emotions in the first place. In the case of migraines they may be secondary or even tertiary processes to the menses.
One man's thoughts. That's all.
Also, somewhere I have a copy of FK's pranayama practices and recall, I think, that it is recommended to do the practices at least once daily after an initial period of two or three times a day. I also recall that FK only suggested that not everyone found the same benefits. I might add that I suspect not everyone practices equally dilligently.
But, I stick by the notion that restoring and maintaining Balance is a "good thing"
:)
Cheers ( a very symmetrical cherry on top)

Of course, balancing is a "good thing", no doubt about that, it helped me in other ways I'm sure. And yes, FK did indeed urge regular practice and warned it didn't help everyone. I wasn't blaming him that it didn't help for me, just stating a fact, and I was diligent about it for a time.
Emotions, of course, play a part and the hormones affect this, but surely I can get just as emotional (sometimes) without the hormones. If your theory holds I should still get migraines if I am being very stressed and emotional, even now. I don't since the rise and fall of estrogen has left my life. I still say it is directly (in MY case) the chemicals that are to blame....perhaps a hypersensitive issue in my own brain response to my own chemicals. I would not be the first person ever with such sensitivities. Some people have chemical imbalances that cause depression or bipolar problems. Mine just caused migraine (lucky me.) The sumitriptan family of drugs worked well for me when I got whacked with pain. They didn't affect my emotions, just my brain pain.
Also, there is the fact that I didn't start the migraine problems until after the birth of a child, and I was 21 at the time. Strange that no emotional stress up to that time brought on a migraine. I firmly believe it was a chemical change that came about during that pregnancy/birth that started the syndrome. And it was a happy time for me. The only thing bad about it were the migraines. A one-month-old infant to care for, along with debilitating pain and nausea. Yuck. And to return to the original comment, I can't imagine even THINKING about having any kind of sex while in the midst of a migraine, with myself or anyone else. Jeez, Louise. <grin>

Lionheart

Yeah, but that would only be one cause of migraines where this applies. As opposed to the way it was presented where it would fix all migraines.

Certainly many different factors can trigger migraines. To my understanding it is the blood engorgment and then release in veins and vessles that begin the process.
I have dealt with them since around 1990 after having a long duration of mono. They got even worse after contracting two different viral infections while traveling out west.
I have noticed stress will cause them. Under and over sleeping. Bright and/or flashing lights, sunlight. Hormone changes. Certain foods/drinks. For me mostly chocolate, swiss cheese, onions, shrimp and wine. Strong chemical smells can do it. Severe coughing when ill. So many things can trigger them but for sure stress for this and many conditions should be avoided.
I have a friend who is currently being tested once again for her epilepsy. In more recent years they seem to be more accepting of her belief and others that in some women many times the seizuring can be hormone related.
Newer thinking now regarding migraines some experts are saying that they are realy seizures.
It will be intersting to see the final thoughts down the road and how they will decide to do treatments.
I do know and can say that since Reiki they are tremendously improved and less frequent.
*Mr. Dave, I am happy to read your broken self is getting repaired and the med's and Reiki are helping you.
Living with sometimes excruciating pain like that is no walk in the park.
I do hope you continue to improve and feel much better.

I am feeling much better thanks to everyone (seen and unseen) who has sent me Reiki.
I do have some pain left in one part of where it was injured. But i'd like to share that I had a few folks work on me through yahoo messenger and the area we all worked on together is almost totally pain free.
I do admit that while I knew the Reiki would help I find it really really cool that the next day the concentrated upon area was almost as good as knew.talk about working fast.
