The Reiki Cafe 

My brother Dave has been suffering from depression most of his adult life. He is in a particularly bad state at the moment and is also in a state of anxiety, having full blown panic attacks etc. In addition to this he has a drink dependency problem. He is undergoing counselling again now. I have asked his permission for both myself and others to send him Reiki and he has agreed. If anyone feels comfortable with adding him to their distant work I would be extremely grateful. I know mental health issues require caution, but he has never been diagnosed as being bipolar,pscizophrenic or having specific personality disorders. He is 34 and lives in Kent, England.

In addition to his permissins if, perhaps, you have given him a bit of 'prepping' on Reiki and distance energy then I feel OK in sending a bit his way.

Thank you, that is very much appreciated.

He has received distant Reiki from me before, but I will remind him of what to expect and I will also remind him again of the need to drink plenty of water to detox.

I am hoping that perhaps Reiki will help him to begin travelling the road to recovery and self healing.

From my own perspective I would love him to, because I know how beneficial it could be.

He is open to Reiki to a point in that he thinks that there is no harm in trying it, but as for being attuned himself I don't know. I am not one for 'pushing' Reiki, I prefer to let people judge for themselves and if they feel it's right for them, then make the decision in their own time :) He has never expressed a wish to receive 'hands on Reiki' either, but he is not a person comfortable with touch and I think that is why he feels more at ease with distant Reiki, at least for the moment anyway :)

Perhaps it is something that he will think about for the future.
