Hi there - Last sunday my usually weak back went "out" as they say. I have a herniated disk between L5 and S1. I have been seeing a Chiropractor, and although it has helped, I am still in pain. It radiates out from my lumbar region and is a constant dull ache with occasional twinges. I have become very tearful at work and feel there is no one to help or talk to about it. I feel I've let myself down by becoming overwight and not managing my back problems in a responsible manner. It's been a week and a half of pain and I'm desperate and tired and unbalanced. I would see a Reiki practioner normally, but cannot afford to do so at the moment as Chiro is costing a fortune.
Apologies for the sob story. My first post and I'm an absolute mess!! Hi - nice to meet you!
I would be thankful for any distant healing that can be offered.
Thank you.

panage,
/*\ Namaste :-}}
- you are added to my list for nightly Reiki practices
- and, there are other professional options to Chiropracty - if the disk is deteriorating, not simply herniated, Chiropracty may not do much for you in the long-run
- it sounds to me as if a Physiatrist who specializes in spinal cord injury (they may be found in rehabilitation hospitals) would be a good consultation

Thank you. It is deteriorating, and I hope to manage it in the long run with Yoga passive and active. I just need the pain and inflamation to disapate.
I trully appreciate your time on this forum.
Thank you again Firekeeper.

Dear Panage,
Cold ice pack on it for no more than 10 minutes at a time as after 10 minutes the body sends a signal to the brain to bring more blood as you are freezing and inflammation starts to occur but less than 10 minutes and inflammation will lessen from my own experiences and what my health practitioner/doctor has told me as well.
Reiki to you.
peace, Prosperity

panage:
Please forgive my belated response---I just read this post this morning.
I have posted on this forum before extolling the virtues of Artificial Disk Replacement. My husband had it done (L-4, L-5; L-5, S-1)and it changed his life.
Please don't think it's out of reach for you---if we could make it happen, anyone can.
I don't wish to be a commercial for this proceedure; I just know firsthand what it's like to suffer back pain, and I know what ADR has done for our family. If you want to know more, please email me.
All good love,
Coyotesong
